Chambahs Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 (edited) Since my last post was closed, Ill ask here. Anyone get the DX10 for XP working? I thought I had it working, but I guess I was wrong, if you've got it working, lemme know how ya did it? Been trying for a bit now. Getting kinda frustrated. I really wanna see the difference in graphics for all the games that ive gotten. Plus, maybe it will help out on my PS2 emulator a bit. Especially since DMC4 came with both DX9 and DX10 startups. Faither Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 If you want to use DX 10 you have to use Windows Vista. There was this guy who announced that he was working on a backport and reverse engineering it for older versions but I haven't heard any word for a long time. So, as long as i'm not mistaken or my information is out-dated you won't get to see your DX10 gfx.
Drake7707 Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 multiboot xp/vista is the best solution for now. I've thought about trying it myself, but it's such a mess and the chanches of actually working & have a performance boost are too low for me. Vista with dx10 is faster than xp anyway when you config it right. If you turn down the visual effects to a minimum and do some tweaks here and there, it'll always work better than no matter what port of dx10 to xp
