PoLiX Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Weee... Very few people made it into my shop, let alone the entire shipyard. I could barely get outta my driveway, so gave up and stayed home. But if too few make it in, and the many wanting to leave before it gets too shitty, I may just get paid and not charged leave anyways. Mhmm. Gonna work on the downloads script some maybe. So if you have any ideas or input, lemme know.
Audry Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 I dont know what the deal is... but my friend bday (and my mom bday ^^) is on the 17th, and EVERY FUCKING year, we have a shitty temperature and a shitload of snow... fucking sucks to wait in a lineup 15 minutes in the cold and the snow Well, enjoy your day off Polix
Samapico Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Snow is fun I have to go shopping for gifts downtown now... I hate this...
CRe Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Hehe, suppose to snow here tomorrow. Hoping its a good amount so I don't got to go to work.
Dav Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 potential snow in england tomorrow but I doubt it will hit me. No excuse to say home though as i live too close to work
»Purge Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 I start work in a week now that I'm off school for vacation.
»Swift Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 I havent had to go to work for 2 snow days and tomorrow leave starts. I rule.

Dav Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 I hope we get a white Christmas over here in England, would be awesome. -L 8-13% chance apparently this year
Corey Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Up here in Canada eh, we only had 1 snow day. But this whole week has been EZPZ at school, because of the OC transpo strike, no one shows up, curse my parents for living within walking distance of the school
1stStrike Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 It actually snowed here in Vegas. I saw snow for the first time in 4 years yesterday. I came home from work and there was snowmen everywhere.
rootbear75 Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 im still pissed because every major storm has either A) Missed us entirely, or just thrown rain at us... you cant have fun in a tug in the rain... snow, well, all i have to say is donuts (not the food) and cancellations. we did get snow once. but it was less than a friggin millimeter
No_Remorse Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 I must be missing something. Unless cleaning off my car, shoveling my driveway and dealing with inept drivers is your idea of a good time. I would love to simply never see snow again.
Drake7707 Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 it snowed for a weekend here, buttttttttttt not for the following weeks now
PoLiX Posted December 20, 2008 Author Report Posted December 20, 2008 STRONG EAST WINDS WILL PREDOMINATE SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY. THIS MEANS THAT THE HEAVIEST SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL MOST LIKELY BE OVER THE KITSAP PENINSULA AND ALONG HOOD CANAL... WHERE THE EAST WINDS WILL ENHANCE THE SNOWFALL BY CREATING UPSLOPE CONDITIONS AS THEY ENCOUNTER THE OLYMPICS. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS HERE COULD RANGE FROM 6 INCHES TO A FOOT AND A HALF. weeee. this gonna be fun.
CRe Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Began snowing here heavily so we were allowed to leave early. Was an hour drive with the amount of traffic compared to the normal 10-15 minutes.
PoLiX Posted December 20, 2008 Author Report Posted December 20, 2008 Yeah, well the shitty thing is where I live we just went almost 10yrs without any real heavy snow, and then last year and this year we're getting our asses kicked. So all of our snow equipment we pretty much budgeted out in most areas except up in the passes and east of the cascades. Now we get to suffer I guess cause it is in the 20s, and the 6-7" most areas still have on the ground ain't going nowhere before the snow returns, and this time bringing 50-70mph winds w/ gusts to 90 with it. 18yrs ago yesterday was the last time we had a major snow storm like this, and they're predicting this one to be worse. So as long as I have power i'll probably be on here a lot working on stuff. So expect things to change a lot round here, mhmm.
Audry Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 You know as much as i do hate cold and snow i wich it could storm here today and tonight so i dont have to go work i freaking need vacation Lucky you polix, enjoy your snow
Chambahs Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Got our asses kicked, about 8 inches of snow here. I hate snow.
»1587200 Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Weak snow falls here where I live. They got screwed up north though. it's just supposed to get uber cold now. -3F tonight with -30F windchills I hate minnesota sometimes
PoLiX Posted December 22, 2008 Author Report Posted December 22, 2008 ~15" now and it is still snowing pretty good. Stopped for a few hrs today and cleaned off my car, but the snow is too deep that i'd rip my bumper off trying to go anywhere. And I only have cables for my car not g/f's so her car ain't going anywhere. Already tried before another 3.5" fell this evening, so probably not going to work tomorrow. Shitty thing, I may at best get 2hrs to get in, but if the buses aren't running routes tomorrow like they weren't today gonna be fucked getting in even that way. Starting to learn the downsides of working for the dod, they don't show much care that there is feet of snow on the ground and almost noone can make it in. Then again I worked saturday at Sears helping them out, and they weren't gonna let anyone home even though half the people didn't expect the snow to come so early and so heavy, so they didn't have anything capable of getting them home if they stayed much longer. And now the power keeps trying to go out. This could be a shitty x-mas week Keep away the northern states if you're planning to go anywhere for x-mas, lol.
