So I had a little over an extra hundred dollars I was plannin to use to buy IP.Downloads and a few other upgrades for SSForum and a mod to connect SSCentral to SSForum, but some dumb bastards decided they needed to see if they could break into my car.

I have a bright blue flashing LED you can see through the windshield and even the tinted windows alerting the alarm is on, and some bastard thought he could break my window and get into my car. Unknown to him professional tinting is a bit thicker and more durable than the do it yourself shit, and you've REALLY gotta hit the window to rip that stuff. So all they/he/her/whoever ended up doing is spider shattering my window (tint held it all together as 1 piece still), setting my alarm off, and running for dear life. Luckily I hadn't taken off my comprehensive coverage on my insurance like I planned to, so theft and vandilism damage is covered and I just pay a $100 deductible. And luckily they work with a local company directly to get the stuff done quickly, the glass is already ordered and will be installed tomorrow. But really, just killed my entire fucking week, and took the $100 I had planned to use for here amongst 1 personal purchase of a Halo Wars pre-order, and made me have to spend it on a new window.

Seriously, if I find out who did it, or see anyone near it again, my steel baseball bat gets its 3rd "get the fuck away from my property" hit on someone. The 2 other dents look lonely anyways.

i had my uncle get a viper alarm. Well the next day some mexicans came and threw rocks at his back window, passenger windows and they missed a few times hitting his truck. Well in arizona glass replacement is free however the dents left by the big ass rocks arent. 500 dollars to fix something you have no control over. I think we should all just get guns and handle it ourselves. Stupid illegals :D

Don't you wish that your car had an alarm that shoots people? There was one type of alarm that was like a flame thrower. Obviously not in the UK or USA. It was somewhere in Asia.

If you could design your own car alarm what would it do?

haha...

Motion sensors to detect where's the asshole

Camera takes pictures (whether he's in the car or outside); it calls my (non-existant yet) cell phone, showing me the pictures; 30 seconds to take a decision, otherwise 9-1-1 is called, pictures automatically sent to police

Simple, effective (the guy has to know he's in trouble so he runs for his life), and doesn't take much space in the car, unlike a flame thrower :/

That, and a good insurance... such a system would definitely make you save on insurance fees

Lucky thing your deductible is only $100. You might want to consider this person could have been an adolescent trying to impress his/her friends with a little vandalism. My best policy is to leave nothing in the car and all the doors unlocked. So even if they break in, they don't break your window and you shouldn't have lost anything of importance.

This reminds me of a similar occurance while I was living in Edmonton just this last summer. I went into the Shopper's Drug Mart during the middle of the day in a highly populated mall parking lot. 5 minutes later upon exiting the store I discover my sunroof shattered to pieces and no evidence of anything missing. My theory is the little cock-a-roach was trying to get a little payback on me for having Ontario license plates in Alberta. And sure enough the security cameras just happened to be pointing the other way and no good samaritans to point out the culprit. Shitty part was after going down to the cop shop the dumbass pot bellies tried to nail me with a fine for not having an up-to-date pink slip for my insurance on me. Of course, they failed to do their job and look into the matter whatsoever, didn't even assess the damages... After all that I find out my deductible for vandalism is $500 which is substantially more than it would cost to replace the broken sunroof to begin with. Next time if I witness anything of the like... BATTERS UP!!

Well it just sucks cause I work 40hrs+ a week at my main job, and then still work for my old job a few hrs a saturday (just so I'm not out spending tons of money while the g/f works) to make some extra cash to pay off credit cards, spend on ss projects, car projects, etc. I worked a few extra hrs doing some training, and figured I could give me g/f a great b-day, do the ssc stuff, and still have a few hundred left in my account to last me til next payday. But seems there we're other plans for my money I guess.

I may do it with my next paycheck which may not be as much, but people have offered to donate some to help pay for the stuff, so eh.

Except it is the car they want, not what is in it. Otherwise they would of gone for the brand new beamer next to me, or the lexus parked on the other side, or the shelby gt mustang. Yeah, quite a few cars to go for if they wanted what was in it, that baffled the sheriff a bit even.

Which would you think had more expensive stuff in it?

But it turns out the guy I bought the car from (a co-worker's brother-in-law / G/f's friend's dad) wouldn't sell it to a bunch of kids cause he didn't want them taking it and wrecking it on his concience(sp?). So they kept trying to break into it, and her brother recently told them he sold it to a guy in Silverdale. So if I do find it was one of these kids, and find out who, I'm gonna kick some ass.

It never feels good to be kicked while you're down. :D

Sad/funny part is my sunroof is still a sheet of plexiglass that is tuck-taped and siliconed in. Had to silicone up some minor leakage but it is winter now and ice doesn't leak! And this happened like 6 or 7 months ago.

Meh, it grew on me, it honestly looks better in person too. Trust me, have had more than enough people offer to buy it. And damn, sometimes I wish I was single, cause the number of girls who have offered to give me road head for a ride, lol. Always give my g/f shit she is lucky that I'm loyal.

But yeah, got the new window, now just have to go have it tinted.

ya, but then when you walk out in the morning, there is a faint outline of where your car was supposed to be.. good job.

Also, people go for the more monotonous cars because they blend into the crowd of traffic easier...

whats easier to spot out of a traffic jam:

Here is the thing, though... An unlocked door isn't a key left carelessly in the ignition. If someone was going to steal your car, I don't think a locked door would stop them. So either way your car is gone. And tbh, unless you live in a metropolitan area it is highly unlikely your car will be stolen. Most people who intend to steal your belongings inside your car will not piss on your seats either if they find nothing.

Despite popular opinion, there are some fuck-ups that will damage other peoples belongings just for shits and giggles. I for one found out about this first hand -- broken sunroof, kicked in fender, broken taillight, smacked up bumper(this was a hit and run).
