Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 just wonderin WTF happened to the eDome site? i know its been down for a long time.. one day it was working the next day it was gone. would be huge for ss to get that site back, it motivates new players to improve their scores and lots of people only play because of it too. Is it possible?

Samapico Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 though he would have needed to search for 'ss database' or something like that; no mention of eDome in that topic But basically, it's not about the zones giving up, it's that the whole code for gathering the data was lost and we have no way to access the data on SSC biller. But a new scores site is being worked on, as far as I know

You've gotten a response from priit? TW has lost our Main bothub hosted on his SSC serv along with the original Elim bots months ago and PL's had no response from him ever since then... It's part of PubHub and the PubBots on twcore, so i would assume because they arepublic bots that come with the core im sure the latest revision will include that.Im guessing it may need some changes to make a "generic" database structure, since TW's is abit whacky. (It's on twcore.org but in a protected directory as other modules of the same bot need to be kept private). However, it's TWCore and populated by TWCore bots (specifically the 'pubhub' and 'pubbot' bots). I never made it to fit in another zone then Trench Wars but I don't see why it shouldn't be possible. Nonetheless, it'll never be a good replacement for the edome website as that was populated directly by the biller. Trench Wars's pubstats is populated by a number of bots that are vulnerable to downtime and errors (just figure that clients can't really estimate the correct number of points a player gets on a kill - another packet is needed to keep the score synchronized; scoreupdate). Until a replacement for edome has been put up, this is a good replacement for Trench Wars (with the bonus of creating nifty graphs about TW's population ).
