Drake7707 Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Eh i used to like a lot of games that when i play them they captivate me (like a good book) and played for hours (and finished them actually), but recently (well more like the last 1-2 years) I can't even play a game for 1-2 hours anymore. Games have become boring and dull . I've tried different genres too, shooters have never been my thing, but games such as a racing game or a good RPG i used to enjoy pretty much. Now when i play similar games, i quit after a while because i get bored of them , it's to the point that i enjoy programming something more than actually relaxing and playing a game.. I probably outgrew them .. so yeah, growing up makes games more boring ... it sucks (pretty much actually as 100% of my free time consists of either programming something or playing a game). Pretty frustrating if i don't want to program something <_< (so now i fill my free time working for school, yes, you read that correctly, i do stuff for school because i don't have anything else to do) !@#$%^&* (End of personal rant )

I realized the same thing some time back. But the good thing of being a human on Earth is that we really never have to be worried about having nothing to do. It's always easy to find stuff to do. I've found excellent - perhaps even productive - things to do as an alternative to gaming during my free time.
Samapico Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 My 'Games' folder used to be filled with dozens of games. Cool games too. Today.. let's see... Portal is still installed (I went through it in a few days couple of months ago, never played it again), Age of Empires 2 is installed (only game I play semi-regularly, in multiplayer with some buddies), got ZSnes (felt like playing Megaman X 2 weeks ago, played it all the way through), and obviously, Continuum is there too.And that's it. I have a !@#$%^&*load of awesome games though, I just don't feel like starting them up again... I pretty much beat all of them too. There are very few games that interest me anymore. One thing I'm waiting for is Black Mesa, a recreation of the original Half-Life using the Source engine. And unlike the official Half-Life Source, the graphics and models and everything are completely redone. By an independent team too, should be fun. A contributing factor in my not-playing-games phase is my loyal Joystick being broken (for like the 4th time). I'll have to re-solder 2 wires in there some day. It's the same wires that broke everytime... I never really had good soldering equipment, so the fix never was really clean... And the wires are getting tired with all this resoldering Hmm, playing MechWarrior 3 with that joystick was awesome.
Dr Brain Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Welcome to being an adult, where the video games suck.
rootbear75 Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Welcome to being an adult, where the video games suck.BLASPHEMY! also sama, why not 1) get a new joystick, or 2) use a 360 controller.
»Purge Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 Welcome to being an adult, where the video games suck. Indeed, and it is such a wonderful place. Although I do still have a little tug to play some random zones in Continuum for an hour or two without just speccing and chatting... but that is during vacation.
Aceflyer Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 (edited) Welcome to being an adult, where the video games suck. QFT. And I don't often do this with Dr Brain's posts. Edited October 22, 2008 by Aceflyer

Samapico Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 diablo 3Oh yeah, I can't wait to buy get that one, do they have a date yet?
Suicide_Run Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 I get bored of games quickly. I usually play games to see their storyline....if they have one. Problem for me, games gets interesting right when you start them....but they never seem to keep my attention till I beat them, unless they are really short.

No_Remorse Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 ya i just bought a ps3 and it very quickly became just another dust collector gta4 not fun. unreal tournament on the other hand, pretty fun but i never get around to it

Dav Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 for me its probably taht I dont have the time to sit and play games for a reasonable period so iut is very hard to get into a game in the same way that I used to. I also find myself less paitent with the long and tedious parts of games and lose interest.
Incomplete Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 There is still one game I havent completed yet. I've had it since I got my Xbox 360 but it scares me.....but I need to complete it.
