it is an error in Continuum loading the .dat files. Sometimes closing it and re-opening it right away fixes it. But it also sometimes will write over the existing files, and all is lost. Kind of an odd bug, never has been addressed really as it just is randomly caused, no commonly found situations even for those it happens to a lot.

I suggest:

Once you have your zone list right, close continuum, and go in your Continuum folder, make a copy of the files 'zones.dat' and 'profiles.dat' under another name

If something goes wrong, just delete the bugged zones.dat or profiles.dat file, and rename your backup copy
