That's why if Brain says "Hay lets start some leagues" Then there will be more squad. This zone needs squads!!! It would be ther perfect zone if squads were used in it...That's is something that drives people away.. They try to start a squad then they find out it's not going to work because HS is just center and runwinning MAYBE basing sometimes.

More basing.

This is how squads will work: 1 squad gets 50-99% of the rich players, other squad gets remaining %. Then there may be 1 squad that mainly consist of poor people who plays a ton.

 

Not really a good solution root....cause your basically forcing people to center.

I say bring back 20 flags, and make it so there is less centering and more basing.. I haven't seen a base game in over 2-3 weeks.

Flag system is fine how it is.

But we need a more defined system for basing.

No, it's just that every one is hating on people that want to base. About an hour ago I tried to start a base game with the attacking team and they got mad that we cleared them and won.. It is stupid. This reset got lame..

I just want the way it was last reset..

3 flag, private max 3, and pub max unlimited...it made the fact that they made us loose our bty abilities/b-lines

now they are just adding insult to injury :D

The best time was about 3 resets ago when Ignescent, D_Claw and aimen were around, when there was that ice base 6 and that fire base 5. The money was fine, everyone was happy, i understand that we haveto try new things, but if they are not working shouldnt it be put back the way it was with a few minor changes.

 

And to the 20 flags/wall neut thing, that is better beacuse if someone sneeks past when 1 freq is winning, and they get the flags then wall nuet it keeps the game going on longer.

Don't you love Arnk's ambiguous and useless posts? Waste of space.

 

As for leagues, the only reason there would be any technical problem with a flagging league is, of course, the "rich player vs poor player" curve. A very fun solution I'd think is to make the league completely stock ships. This way, all teams are balanced and the only factors in winning are teamwork and skill.

 

Alternatively, a dueling league could also be hosted. !@#$%^&*embling together a decent dueling ship takes no more than two or three weeks tops. During this preparation time, the league could be coordinated and scheduled, as well as advertised. It could be 1v1, 2v2, etc. or however the mods decide.

 

Having leagues would greatly increase Hyperspace's popularity and player base, especially among those league !@#$%^&*le ASSS in various zones. It would also give the zone something else to do besides sit in center and whine about no base games.

 

I dont think 20 flags should be reimplemented if one player is not able to hold all 20. If there is a restriction on flag carrying limit, it's probably best to keep it at 5.

 

If koth is possible, I would definitely pay to play it.

there is nothing ambiguous about those 5 words pointing out that someone is just plainly wrong, the waste of space is actually in people repeating the same bad ideas

also since you said something productive: no legitimate hs league will use public ships, ever. they will probably use the points system which d1 made for elim where you customize your ship but are given an exact amount of resources to work with. unfortunately we have no present feasble way of syncing itemsets that uses points with an itemset that uses public hs dollars, but as i understand it there will be a way to specify points and dollar amounts on the same item in the upcoming hscore remake which solves this problem. (and this problem is really the least of the things in the way of there from being a serious hs league)

thats not HS's style though. Hyperspace prides itself on being able to customize a ship exactly how you like it.

a duel should be a combination of whoever can make their ship the best with a limited number of resources and pilot skill.

Bonus points to whoever uses less resources but still wins.

What are the other obstacles of there being an HS league then Arnk?

 

I think having an individual league would be best for now, perhaps duel. There aren't enough players to host a proper flagging league.

 

The sooner this can be set up, the better the chance is of saving HS.

Leagues involve organization time. All of our mods either don't have the background for organizing a league or don't have the time to put into starting a league. Same goes for sysops.

 

Saving HS isn't a big issue. The zone is simply in a rut, but there's absolutely no reason it can't get out of it again. No one has died or moved on from the game, it's just a matter of waiting for some more development time.

the first legitimate league in HS will be one with customization, there is no point in doing anything else because it's already been done, HS strives to do something new.

but it is absolutely NOT going to involve having your global public ships in league, everyone will be on an equal playing field in terms of resources every game

 

everyone I have seen to this point has seemed to be clueless on what it takes to make a league: everyone concentrates on the absolutely least important part: making a map. screw that, we have maps. you need to have first of all: a well defined structure and ruleset that isn't half !@#$%^&*ed, an infrastructure that can automate it (d1 has started on this but it has a long way to go), oh then we have to go rebalance the item prices for the points system. once all of those pieces are set, then maps might start being a relevant thing to think about.

You don't have to rebalance item prices. Just keep them the same, and give all players maybe 100k to set up their ship.

item prices right now are not at all indicitave to how good they are, there is a novelty factor !@#$%^&*igned to neater things and also so that things aren't available all at once. look at how elim has things (those items were a very very early iteration of the current set) and how the prices are there. plus obviously not all items will be allowed outside of public

 

 

i think i already said that

last i checked you weren't a sysop or anyone remotely related to the project tho? i was merely just setting the record straight since we're not using public ships (obv) and not using stock ships (less obv but still pretty obv)

Without being able to test the new item set, how will players be able to accurately create the ship they want?
