Chambahs Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 (edited) This is probably the most accurate stuff someone has ever said to me: A woman has a close male friend. This means that he is probably interested in her, which is why he hangs around so much. She sees him strictly as a friend. This always starts out with, you're a great guy, but I don't like you in that way. This is roughly the equivalent for the guy of going to a job interview and the company saying, You have a great resume, you have all the qualifications we are looking for, but we're not going to hire you. We will, however, use your resume as the basis for comparison for all other applicants. But, we're going to hire somebody who is far less qualified and is probably an alcoholic. And if he doesn't work out, we'll hire somebody else, but still not you. In fact, we will never hire you. But we will call you from time to time to complain about the person that we hired. Aceflyer Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 The guy's obviously a stupid fool then.
»doc flabby Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 (edited) The guy's obviously a stupid fool then.or gay acctually he might not be as stupid as you think there are a number of advantages to having an attractive female friend. Edited September 30, 2008 by doc flabby
NBVegita Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 acctually he might not be as stupid as you think there are a number of advantages to having an attractive female friend. Only if you're sleeping with her. On another note, if a guy knows that this girl thinks of him as only a friend he needs to come to terms with it and either bury his feelings if he honors their friendship that much,m man up and tell her how he feels or break off the friendship. I don't feel bad for the guys caught in the "friend zone" because it is mostly your fault if you get thrown into the "friend zone" and as the old adage says, there are plenty of fish in the sea.
Sneakerz Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 Hot female friends are nice to have.... They tend to have hot female friends as well, and when you happen to go out drinking with said friend and her friends show up, you tend to have an easier time getting them in bed (I mean so what if you are thinking about your friend while having fun with her friend) They are other advantages, but well, let's leave it at that for now.
FMBI Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 old saying. ^^ Yehp. Read this 5 years ago somewhere, and it shows up in endless variations on Maddox's anti-female rants.
BlueGoku Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 I've always been of the opinion that it is impossible for a guy and a girl to be just friends and that one of them always has feelings for the other.

FMBI Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 So you're telling me that all my platonic relationships of the past have now ceased to exist, a la Twilight Zone? I've known plenty of females over the years that I wouldn't have screwed even if they had stripped right in front of me, simply because neither of us had feelings in that direction, and it would've been pointless - even ignoring the obvious side effect of damaging the original relationship. Until you find me a book by Erich Fromm or B. F. Skinner backing that concept up, F you.

NBVegita Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 If you want to be more than friends get a spine and say so! Also sneak from personal experience attractive girls tend to hang with less attractive women. I've met very few attractive women who don't describe at least half of their girl friends as "Well she's a really sweet girl" I've always been of the opinion that it is impossible for a guy and a girl to be just friends and that one of them always has feelings for the other. I believe that to be true for the most part. One side will have attraction, I mean it's hard wired into us.
Aceflyer Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 I've always been of the opinion that it is impossible for a guy and a girl to be just friends and that one of them always has feelings for the other. Upon further inspection, it seems that when I originally read Blue's post, I misread it. I read it as: "I've always been of the opinion that it is impossible for a guy and a girl to be just friends if one of them always has feelings for the other." Hence my reply that I agreed, since human will was only so strong. Reading Blue's post correctly now, I would have to say I disagree, both because of theory and because of personal experience.
