deadonarrival Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 (edited) Download Threatfire - it's an antivirus software. When running continuum its fine, but when I try to go out o spectate, it tells me there's a virus in continuum.exe Obviously there isn't (or someone would long since have been in my bank details) but this is clearly an issue Edit: Image looks wierd resized - it works fine fullsize though - click it Edited September 20, 2008 by deadonarrival
Samapico Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 Packed / PeX ... that sounds like what Priitk used to pack / compress / encrypt the exe data of Continuum.exe. It probably is scrambling some memory or something when you get in a ship (anti-cheat feature), and your AV probably detects that as a threat. AV's messing with Continuum isn't new though. With a bit of luck, you can just add it in the exceptions and it won't complain anymore. But I'm pretty sure that doesn't work for some other AV's messing with continuum; though they don't pop up an explicit warning like yours did, they just mess with the process and it gets stopped/restarted infinitely.
deadonarrival Posted September 21, 2008 Author Report Posted September 21, 2008 (edited) I can't find any way to make an exception. And fair enough, I guessed it was legit (I've used CTM long enough to trust it by now) - I was just more concerned that it was stopping people playing. Edit: Found a way to add it to "trusted processes" - if I don't edit this again, I've got it working Edit2: Nope, still crashing - btw that error is the quarantine. The actual error is even more grouchy... Edited September 21, 2008 by deadonarrival
