Restore 4% rate

There's no logical reason to drop banking interest rates to 1%, although there are lots of reasons against it :

 

Most importantly, there's nothing to spend points on unless you get hundreds of thousands of them. The average user might earn 1,000 in several months via posting - which, if you do the math, results in a mere quadrupling of points over a nearly six-month period at the 1% rate. At the 4% rate, you would have 256 times your original number of points in the same period. Therefore, !@#$%^&*uming 4% rates, a newbie who starts banking immediately could theoretically have 250,000+ points by the time he has been here only slightly longer than half a year - however, if he has the 1% rate, then he will receive only about 4,000 points. Now, I suppose that wouldn't be so bad under some cir!@#$%^&*stances - after all, a few big members have millions each banked in the system - but it is pointless to just suddenly clamp down on everyone, when those who already have points have no incentive to spend them on the !@#$%^&*ty prizes available, and those who would consider earning enough to spend them cannot scrounge up enough points to accomplish anything. I hate to sound like an advocate of libertarianism here*, but making it impossible for people to do anything without getting 50 friends together and spending a month working on a project doesn't sound like a good way to get things done, especially with the extremely small steady user base - and the lack of points gained from posting in the lounge**. While some changes of this nature worked in the past (such as majorly dropping the lotto prizes), this one just speaks volumes about the stupidity, or, more kindly, the unthinking nature of the many recent happenings on this forum. *COUGH NAVBAR COUGH* Therefore, I officially request that you change the interest rate back to 4%, or else change prices, lotto prize sizes, and available prizes to make the whole thing worthwhile.

*I'm not, by the way, because this is a zero-effort, infinite-resources game with no bearing on reality - thus, standard logic does not apply.

 

**Were those posts to be counted, most people's points would be much higher - but, of course, that would still be irrelevant, because it would be impossible to create long-term stockpiles due to the incredibly pathetic interest rates.

You said it yourself, the whole thing is not worthwhile... The points system was put in for the Casino, but since the Casino was full of bugs and was removed, there was nothing to do with the points anymore.

 

Also, most of the money in the richer member's banks dated from the time the Casino was there, and that we could get 10k every day, like Picard did

 

For all these reasons, the Points system is simply disabled now. Member !@#$%^&*les should only be changed by admins anyway, like in any other forum. Please don't REQUEST !@#$%^&*le changes, however, or you might end up with a !@#$%^&*le of whiny !@#$%^&*
