More of a progress update.

Network stack has been completely rewritten in C++ and now works properly (still missing some functionality but most is there)

 

Controls

 

Enter - Chat Console

T/Y Rotate view

pgup/pgdn zoom

esc - exit

 

arrows control ship

 

It connects to the zone PSS STF Test Zone. If other people are online you can talk to them.

 

Notes:

- The chat console i wrote in about 5 mins and is bugged and isn't working properly with non letter characters:

- You cannot see others players ships (thats next to get working)

- If you enter the zone using continuum, you can see the ship flying around (not quite working right yet either)

It's working better than the previous versions for me! (Remember my graphics card doesn't even support linux).

If you try to go out as far as possible, the client crashes.

 

I noticed that hitting enter and then typing stuff would be messed up; like I would hit the Shift button and it would literally print out "Shift" and then I'd press the question mark and it would print out "Slash" after that ("ShiftSlash"). In Continuum, it would look like that plus with the >.

its cool that you can see what type of message is sent

if you send it messages, it will say

Public :

Team :

Private :

Freq :

 

ihavent tried chat or system messages (1: cuz i dont have mod access)

 

In SS, you can shoot it, but it doesnt die.

 

One problem i did see is that it seems to take a while for it to exit the zone. I hit ESC in STF Window and it didnt leave for like 2 minutes.
