»Purge Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 Can you add a "Dilate" feature? Basically, it will be a function that will increase the empty tile space by a specified number in a selected region. This can be useful for making bases "larger" with a simple selection and click of the mouse. The same can be done for the inverse.
Samapico Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 hmmmmmm how about a stretch function? 2 stretches and you're dilated... would be much simpler code-wise too, I think. It would just repeat any tiles on the source edge. I might post some pictures explaining this this evening, I don't know how to explain it accurately There are a couple of issues that could make dilating a bit hard.
»Purge Posted August 18, 2008 Author Report Posted August 18, 2008 What I meant was moving the tiles bounding the empty space to a certain number of tiles, which would be like "adding empty space". The direction of where to move would be a bit hard.
Samapico Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 The hard part would be not to get holes in your walls...and yeah, you might want to try the resize... I think it mostly preserves wall thickness
Samapico Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 As Drake said... resize does exactly what you guys wanted... just tried it it works fine Edit -> Resize
Drake7707 Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 ^^, i tinkered too much with it to not know , also if you want to add a big amount of space (> 150% of original size) it's possible that some wall may double (not sure, forgot how exactly the 3 resizing methods work). But then you can always do a few smaller consecutive resizes.
