I just put together a new map... it uses mostly the same concept, except that it's like 4 different bases, but all in center. I tried to make the layout to concentrate on flag possession.I know some of you want the old map back... just ?go oldmap If I can get some time again to advertise and plan events and such, it could get interesting I think. If anyone wants to help out, you're more than welcome. Someone to schedule events (pub or not) every week-end or so, and host them would be great. Also, the bot plugin for the flag capture is (mostly) fixed. Your team has to hold all 4 flags for a specified time to win the game. Flags take a certain time to be fully captured, so you can't just kami on an enemy flag to stop their victory, once you capture the enemy flag, their victory timer will pause during the capture, if you successfully capture it after a few seconds, then their timer resets.And if you capture all the flags, then the victory timer will start again for your team. I'm planning on adding-a jackpot, so winning the game actually is worth something-game stats (and maybe all-time stats, or score-period stats)-messages during the game to keep focus on the gameplay (i.e. "Team 0 will win if they keep the flags for another minute!" or "A flag is being captured, victory timer will reset in X seconds!", stuff like that) Quote

deadonarrival Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 Faster ships (no thanks!) or a smaller map still. Fact is it's action that keeps people playing. We need a map that can be played by 4 people and be fun. 17th doesn't get the 30+ pop it used to - but this map is still comparable size. So yeah, my opinion is make the map smaller and - dare I say it - lose the 17th "Centre" for the sake of some smaller bases closer to the middle of the map. Bases = fights for things = fun. Open area between them allows for dogfighting. Quote
