Samapico Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 That video was just to show me how to make a walltiles set from a single straight tile. DCME's walltiles generator does exactly that. You just have to make a nice straight vertical tile Quote

aquarius Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 i'll make a better one, one of these days - that video was just to explain to sama how to write his code - smart people can watch it and understand fundamentally how to create a wide range of tiles for continuum now, sama, maybe we should just take the next step in DCME and support wider tilesets, the code does the same thing just on a larger scale, you'll need another video and your thinking chair for it though, because it is a bit different and will produce a few of the same tiles, so we will need to work it in users should be able to input a virticle tile from 1x2 to at least 4x4 (tiles), and generate walls with that, also, where are the diags? those can be generated just as easily Quote
Samapico Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 Read this about the future of walltiles in DCME:http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=21730I'm not implementing diagonals before that new system, it will be a waste of time and ruin a lot of the code. As for wider tilesets, I'm guessing you're talking about lvz images used as tiles? Or are you talking about diagonals and thick walls and such? 4x4 walls? Would a complete walltile set of that even fit in a tileset? Quote
JDS Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 how hard is it to make a 16x16 block in photoshop... flip/rotate whatthe !@#$%^&* its probably the easyest thing ever... <<< i use ms.paint so yea... Quote
aquarius Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 yea, and you make the greatest tilesets good tilesets would take forever in paint, and even in photoshop (or a layered editor) - it's the same process over and over and over. !@#$%^&* it, why not generate walltiles? Quote
Samapico Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Is there a way to make macros in photoshop? Quote
aquarius Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 yea, there are 'actions' (macros) and 'filters' (plugins) actions don't perform this task (at least i haven't gotten it to work yet), and i don't know how to write plugins Quote
JDS Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 people use my sets in subspace 2 this date, not everything is meant to be complicated.. but yea it takes a while in paint... Quote
