Lewadra Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 I just bought a new PC, installed .40, lauched it, but... It doesnt seem to connect online. All the zones are red, I cant dl new zones ( the zone list doesnt load ).I already checked my firewall and set it to allow Continuum... But it's still staying offline.... Any help?
Hakaku Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Make sure that your download list only has the following: (Directory Server Adress List)sscentral.sscuservers.net, ssdir.playsubspace.com, warpath.bluetoast.org Else, try taking a look at this topic for some common problems:http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=13180
Lewadra Posted July 12, 2008 Author Report Posted July 12, 2008 Those problems are for Continuum not loading AT ALL. My problem is that its not connecting to the internet. And like I said, I already set my firewall to allow it..
Lewadra Posted July 12, 2008 Author Report Posted July 12, 2008 Id rather not.. Besides, I could play earlier with the same firewall & settings
Dav Posted July 13, 2008 Report Posted July 13, 2008 try it temporarily, it will act only to see if you need to do more configuration with the firewall or not.
Lewadra Posted July 13, 2008 Author Report Posted July 13, 2008 Thats strange.. Disabling it completely helps.. But the whole system is set to allow everything that has something to do with Continuum.....I'd rather not keep my firewall off for too long though.. Gotta find a way around it.. Ideas?
Lewadra Posted July 14, 2008 Author Report Posted July 14, 2008 Decided to keep the firewall completely DISABLED. The Anti-Virus is enabled however, luckily.Hope it was a good decision, just to get online.. Thanks for replies.

Thanks for replies. As long as you aren't a re!@#$%^&* and go to stupid websites, you won't get viruses. I don't use an anti-virus or a firewall and my computer is always fine. Just don't go to any stupid porn sites. Go to the ones you know are safe.
X`terrania Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Yeah, you're really being wayy too paranoid about this firewall incident. And the only people you really need to worry about are the ones that can completely obliterate/bypass your firewall in the first place.
jacob hunter! Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 I had this same problem before and it was easily fixed. Just restore your computer to an earlier date and continuum will be working fine.
