ipod touch for the win... update is kinda pissing me off. But all in all, worthy buy...

People willing to blow the hundreds a month to use the iphone, instead of the free touch services, are morons though.

I bought the new 3g, 8gb for $200 (USD) today and it only added $30 to my plan, which I was going to add anyway for work, which they are paying for.

It's a good deal if you're already planning on unlimited data.

It's a great phone so far.

Btw, the base plan for the iPhone is only $69.99 (USD), which is a basic plan ($39.99) plus unlimited data ($30.00).

At least in the U.S.

yeah, i saw a listing today in the newspaper about it how the price is the sum of all those additional plan costs from the beginning.

Nooohoho-way am i willing to pay that much money for a stupid cell phone. I rather prefer to have a simple mobile phone instead (my nokia 7650 still works well) and buy an ASUS eee pc instead (that's only 349€ here iirc) and it's much more flexible with windows xp on it ^^

On second thought I find that law actually pretty good, companies can't hide the complete cost for a product from you (well not really hiding, but it's deceiving when you don't calculate the total amount you'll have to spend)

We here in Holland can't even buy it seperately. We need to buy it with a TSP contract, which amounts to about 900 euros (incl IPhone) over 2 years. But competing telephones like the HTC Touch Pro costs about the same (+- 500 euros) as in Belgium. I saw on TV tho the IPhone only is 350 euros in Switzerland. And the EEE laptop is a ripoff compared to regular cheap laptops (more power for the same money).

You won't really find a contract of similar calibre offering such an advanced phone. Thats 1200 Minutes and 600 Texts, and free unlimited internet. Considering I'm in London and coverage is exceptionally good, I won't be complaining. :/

Precisely, and I am on the phone a lot anyway - I can't really see myself using all them texts though - it's not exactly the easiest phone to text on. blum.gif

I thought they were going to cut the price to make it actually AFFORDABLE to normal people, apparently not.

In England it's still like $400 plus a $60 a month contract. Ridiculous.
