Suicide_Run Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 (edited) I rather take the, give it to Zero Punctuation from Escapist magazine and tell him to do a review on Subspace instead. At least I know for sure lots of people looks at his reviews. But I think he only does games that doesn't based on online gaming.... Edited July 9, 2008 by Suicide_Run
Static Burn Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 Forums are free to join - and it's not hard to make a good post to advertise this game. -Lynx Agreed. Here's a list of 2097 of the most popular message boards on the internet: http://rankings.big-boards.com/?p=all (note: A LOT of boards not related to gaming have gaming sections which you could post in.) So get posting people.

Samapico Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 Sama, you're telling me you've never seen the top shelf at any good corner store? There probably would not be any porn on the internet if that was the case... Furthermore, I've never paid for pr0n.I haven't either...The point is that if NOBODY was paying for porn, there wouldn't be any porn sites or whatever. This applies to any field, really. Like these annoying BUY EMOTICONS LOLOLOL sites, they exist because there are people stupid enough to buy that !@#$%^&*.
CRe Posted July 16, 2008 Author Report Posted July 16, 2008 Well there is no point in spending that much money for a magazine that is not that popular so see if he can give us some free deal which I have doubts he will.
Trained Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 I linked him to the discussion, maybe he can work with us on something
»Lynx Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 There's a differences of needs, we're a free game, that appreciates advertisement to make our population base larger. However, Mr. Allen is trying to make a business profitable. The chances of us getting sympathy is slim, and the prices that are stated are far too high. -Lynx

Suicide_Run Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 I completely agree, but maybe we will be able to do advertising for advertising deal like some off the MMO top sites.Yea, we should enter those Top50/100 sites and get people to vote once a day. Maybe that will bring in some people?
Hakaku Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 Umm, how many times have we tried that idea Suicide Run? That's a recipe for failure, a thousand times done in the past. Aside,The biggest problem with this magazine concept is, as previously pointed out before, that we're technically a non-profit player-run community; not even an organisation. Therefore dishing out 300 pounds (i.e. CA$601,3 or US$600,5) for a magazine to make profit off something non-profit is a no-go. Although I do not doubt that the article would be nice, and perhaps it could potentially attract some players here and there, I should also point out that The Escapist reviewed Continuum on their own accord. Therefore unless some rich kid around here wishes to donate that sum, personally I believe that you could better place that money elsewhere.
Samapico Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 well, we got 'game of the month' on some site... not sure if it actually brought people in. But anyway, 600 bucks is way too much for this, imo. As it was said, I would invest elsewhere.
Trained Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 Ive already got Continuum signed up for multiple sites and have some gold memberships already payed for.
rootbear75 Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 how much did you actually spend on those trained?
Trained Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 About $100 total, from all the gold memberships, I doubt theyre actually still counted as gold memberships seeing as theyre only monthly.
»Lynx Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 Or could be donated to server owners to improve the state of what they're providing... -Lynx
