Slicer Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 Yo. I was the one who asked them to review it.The magazine is a new and very popular e-mag. They are very just and won't review for the sake of just making money. I'd say let them have a go at it. Also read the magazine its a great e-mag.
CRe Posted July 9, 2008 Author Report Posted July 9, 2008 Well err I don't really got cash on me currently.
Slicer Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 http://www.thirteen1.com/ address for the e-mag
Samapico Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 Do I understand correctly? We'd need to pay 300 euros to appear in there? The 'Example' thing confuses me
Resol Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 !@#$%^&*, I would donate a few bucks to help if need be.
Trained Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 I say we all pitch in to be set as a big !@#$%^&* MySpace background on the homepage... I wonder how much that would cost..
Russky Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 I say we all pitch in to be set as a big !@#$%^&* MySpace background on the homepage... I wonder how much that would cost.. Very good idea... last year myspace was responsible for 5% of internet traffic (i think) and well seeing how that goes it would probably cost... A LOT

Imagine if it looked nice...

Cancer+ Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 Yeah, don't pay to get in this magazine. The Escapist didn't make anyone pay.
»Lynx Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 People who make you pay for !@#$%^&* on the internet should be !@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*inated. -Lynx
Samapico Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 People who make you pay for !@#$%^&* on the internet should be !@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*inated. -LynxThere probably would not be any porn on the internet if that was the case...Think about it.
rootbear75 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 Yeah, don't pay to get in this magazine. The Escapist didn't make anyone pay.and we only got a small 3 paragraph entry... i wonder how many people saw that one.... even still, i agree with cancer. if they want to review us fine, let them. Here is my statement: "If someone comes to us asking us to pay to be in their magazine, don't.If we go looking for somewhere to place some advertisements, then by all means, go ahead!"
»Lynx Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 (edited) Sama, you're telling me you've never seen the top shelf at any good corner store? -Lynx ----Furthermore, I've never paid for pr0n. Edited July 9, 2008 by Lynx
rootbear75 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 (edited) i just realized what they were trying to say in their poorly written email... The miniature magazine will be announced in the next issue of Thirteen1 (out on the 13th), the Blizzard community website and on all of our partner websites, promising strong readership figures. so if we decide to advertise... just think of the possibilities...im not sure if any of you thought of this edit: btw: i still hold true to what i said in my previous post... i just had not fully read the email and every part of it Edited July 9, 2008 by rootbear75
jacob hunter! Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 !@#$%^&* that... Just have trained send us more ss cards and start handing those !@#$%^&*es to gamers!
»doc flabby Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 (edited) Don't go for this deal, unless they can provide some traffic statistics that show they get 100k+ hits per day. If they not providing traffic stats it means they hiding something Also WoW and MMRPG people are NOT our target audiance. We want to target people who don't have hours and hours on their hands and are kinda poor, who like a game they can dip in and out of and they can play on their crappy connection+ pc. Subspace's core market is the people who play Wii. We want people who dont wanna pay money for their games. Bascially we're after cheapskates and casual gamers 300€ is way over priced consudering the size of their forumFor 300 pounds i could get an advert in some national or regional press here. For 300 pounds could get some nice Facebook or Myspace adverts. To give you an idea of how overpriced this deal ishttp://www.megatokyo.com/support160$ for 100,000 page impressions in a very popular and long running webcomic. I've been reading megatokyo for years. An advert on CAD would be worth it too.Thats a solid adverting deal, not "some people might read it" I strongly suggest avoiding solicited advertising. The best advertisers dont have to advertise, people come to them....You never see any real computer games magazines asking for advertising do you? Edited July 9, 2008 by doc flabby
Incomplete Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 I wouldn't do it. You shouldn't have to pay.
