Alright, so as some of you may or may not know, I've taken on the task to complete Hallowed be thy name's work.

The first good news is that everything has been ported over from 1.4.3 to ASSS 1.4.4, meaning that it's Continuum 0.40 compatible. I've also not encountered any crashing or weird "stuck-on-enter" problems, which is a good thing. (Although, this may have to do with modules being unloaded improperly - *fixed*)

TO DO:

- Conquer doesn't display stars

- Add a race module

- Jackpot music lock

Important :

- Jackpot & Credits lvz handling needs to be fixed (it seems the math is wrong somehow?)

In progress:

- fixing stuff here and there

Known bugs:

- Megajackpot gets unloaded when all players leave arena

- Events don't handle 0-1 players

- Events ship limits only limit single ship

- Jugger doesn't really handle new players

- Event crashing

And yes SOS, events are now noisy, and bacon too blum.gif

Yep, and if any of you have any suggestions, don't hesitate to post here. I already know that XDOOM wants simplified commands similar to what exists already, and 99% of SOS' concerns here have been resolved, but what else?

And for an update, all buyables have now been ported over.

I felt the need to make this post, since people have been asking quite a bit:

!@#$%^&*S stands for A Small Subspace Server; basically, it means that we're trying to replace the current server software with a more modernized structure (currently, Subgame requires bots to host events). Although the advantages may not seem noticeable for the players, it means that XDOOM won't be forced to leave his laptop on 24/7 to host the bot, and it means that commands can be simplified for mods et al. It will also mean that the website can keep track of real-time statistics for each arena such as kills/deaths/goals/etc. Eventually, we'll be able to create all sorts of new stuff and events, but that's all in the future for now.

The goal is to attract more players, and in order to do this, ASSS seems to be the best way to go (look at Hyperspace). Currently, most features that are currently available in Deva have been ported over to the new server. The features that haven't will be listed in my TO-DO list above.

As for help? If you want to help, I'd love some!

- If you want to test out the server and debug all of my mistakes, well... you'll have to wait until I finish up and put it on a temporary/permanent server.

- If you want to suggest new things (such as buyables, events, commands, etc.) or critique new & old things, please post ahead!

If you want to help write modules for Deva, you'll need 3 things:

1. Motivation

2. Knowledge of C (or at least try to understand how it works) or Python

3. Knowledge of ASSS (this is a requirement) A good place for resources to learn ASSS is: http://forums.minegoboom.com/ & module writing: http://wiki.minegoboom.com/index.php/Writing_Modules_In_C

If you have any more questions, concerns, or other, either just post in this thread, private message me here, or pm me in-game.

Hak,

I've done a lot of module changes since ASSS stopped working, including creatin a lot of .ini files to customize as much as possible (so i would not have to build a plugin in order to change a setting).

Do you want the source code?

Thanks

XDOOM

That would be good; although I still don't know what big differences the .ini file would be tracking in comparison to what's currently being tracked by the arena(s) .conf file(s), so if you could shed some light on what can be customized through it. Currently in ASSS, the arena settings keep track of all available buyables, prices, buy-delays, antiwarp radius, spree, basewarps, and other attached modules. So I'm curious to know what else you're able to customize outside the plugin itself.

Umm, no diff. I just used .ini as my file extension.

I just want to make sure your .conf files have the same things as my .ini's so the RIGHT customizations are available in ASSS
