after reading this whole topic and finding out from all those people how dumb you are aceflyer, i had no intention of reading your long post, i doubt it would changed my new found knowledge of ur stupidity lolol

What's the point of netbanning somebody when it won't alleviate any of the alleged problems

 

It's the principle of the matter. cReEmY, for example, is still able to play in Continuum even though he is netbanned, but his netban still stands.

 

Now just do everyone a favor and stop talking to aceflyer.

 

That's actually all I want - for him to leave me alone. I have L Y N X on my ignore.txt - and have had him there for some time now. The ignore.txt did work as it was supposed to for a while. This whole thing started because somehow he was recently able to get around my ignore.txt.

Here's a little rundown of how this silly game called Continuum works:

- The entire ignore system works locally. Under no cir!@#$%^&*stance does the server know who you've ignored; nor would it care regardless. The server will gleefully continue to send you every appropriate message packet from every player.

- ?ignore works per-session. When you log out, everyone you ignored via command is now unignored.

- ignore.txt is somewhat persistent, but is only reloaded when you connect to a zone.

- The client has no alias detection.

 

What this means is that if he is "byp!@#$%^&*ing" your ignore.txt, then you (a) mistyped his name, ( used ?ignore by mistake, [c) added a different alias to ignore.txt or (d) are making everything up.

 

Regardless of which of the above options it is, what happened today is you got a player netbanned because you don't understand the situation. Further, you seriously exaggerated the situation to gain support from someone who was completely uninvolved from the start. Further yet, you presented no proof of this behavior and basically demanded the player in question be removed. What the !@#$%^&*, ace?

 

Look, if you want to go ban people who annoy you from whatever zone you're sysop in, then feel free -- it doesn't effect anyone else. But when you start arbitrarily removing people from every other ssc zone simply because you're pissed off and uneducated, then we have a problem. This non-issue turned into a !@#$%^&*ing cesspool of drama because you have some new-found desire to have power over people in this !@#$%^&*ty game.

 

Christ... you're still an unknown in this game and you're already well on your way to a meltdown. What the !@#$%^&* is with you people these days?

Reminds me of the time you banned someone for quickwinning a flag game with a population of 1 cuz you didnt know wat quickwinning was and concluded taht he hacked. That was... a month or two ago? =P

 

Anyway, this seems like a total !@#$%^&*bag move on aces side, however in NH's defense, a ssc sysop usually should be trusted, but guess not in this case.

*oh ill give more details. He pursuaded candygirl to netban me because I didn't leave SSDev chat. for two reasons, an issue wasn't resolved and #2 according to the roster and to aquarius I was still in the team.*

Just demote him in till he understands how to ignore people when they start annoying him..Demote him for like 1-2 mouths so he knows what he did was wrong..And if it would happen again Id say just fire him..But that might now happen if he can understand how to use his powers wisely.

I never said this was to "appease the masses"; and even if the larger issue at hand is broader than a simple netban fix, it's not like anything's going to change in this thread. It seems rather, you prefer deterring the subject towards me because you're seeking attention. Isn't it kind of obvious already that what Aceflyer did was more than really stupid? Do I have to state my opinion just to get your approval? How would this thread (were it not in Lounge) be any different, and how would this solve the issue any better?

 

Anyhow, if you're surprised it's ended up in here, maybe you need to stick around a bit longer and review the past threads concerning e-drama, rootbear, and other such threads.

Your interpretation of my intentions are dead wrong. I really don't care how much attention I personally get and I don't expect this thread to solve the problem. What I do expect, however, is to get through to at least one person with the ability to get some of this !@#$%^&* fixed.

 

Yes, we can both agree that this entire situation is dripping with stupid. But somehow this isn't the first and will likely not be the last of the stupid things I will see from the people involved here. Why is that?

Again, we both agree that Ace is an idiot, but somehow this idiot managed to get enough people in his pocket that he can arbitrarily call for a netban without any form of evidence -- which is one of the more high-profile privileges in game. If this unknown boob already has that kind of pull, what do you think is going to happen to him? My prediction: not a god!@#$%^&* thing; and that's a huge !@#$%^&*ing problem in my book.

 

I don't know when it happened, but between now and some ancient time long ago when I gave two ASSS about the SSC, someone lowered the standards. We have these children setting up near-dead zones and getting biller and bang access with almost less trouble than it's for them to setup the !@#$%^&* server itself. And no one (important) seems to give a !@#$%^&* when they go all ape!@#$%^&* with their new-found powers. I can't possibly be the only one who sees the problem with that... can I?

I'm not even going to reply to your post Ace - that was just... really stupid, even by your standards. I will apologise to Nighthawk for disrespecting him as much as I did - but again, he should have known Aceflyer was a newb, and probably should have asked for some evidence. I'm still not thrilled by the way this was later handled too, but that's another story I'm not really willing to go into. Also, I second Ceriums prediction that nothing will happen to Aceflyer - he's already weaned/!@#$%^&*-sucked his way into his comfortable little circle, and quite depressingly, even the more educated of that circle can't seem to see his transparency. Oh well, it's not like Subspace has ever followed the "qespondeat superior" trend, so I won't expect much more to come of this.

 

I guess people can just read this and laugh at the foolishness of the under educated.

Like i said, ive also seen him ban someone cuz he though quickwinning was hacking.

 

And a third instance ill bring up... Me, aceflyer, another player, and keira were having a lil dispute in ssdevelopments chat. Aceflyer and the other player wanted keira out of the chat. I'll admit I had previously joined them in har!@#$%^&*ing her and poking fun at her, but everyone knew it was on a joking level. This day, after they pointedly har!@#$%^&* her, then demand she leaves chat, she refuses to do so, and pokes a lil fun back. Aceflyer went to candygirl, and bang bang, netban on the grounds that keira HAR!@#$%^&*ED them, etc. That ban held for a few hours till i logged back into ss and !@#$%^&*ed out ace and talked to cg.

Haha... The 61 day ban for quick winning on the grounds that it is actually "hacking the client"... Anyway, I find it interesting how somebody can be netbanned because they refuse to leave a chat (Which is only owned by if anybody: the owners of the biller) - and furthermore netban by stamping "har!@#$%^&*ment" onto the claim.
