darkhosis Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 The birthdate option in profiles won't let you set birthdate before 1909. There are many folks over 100 in today's society. Please correct this ageism issue, thanks
darkhosis Posted June 17, 2008 Author Report Posted June 17, 2008 are you suggesting that nobody over 100 plays subspace?
CRe Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 are you suggesting that nobody over 100 plays subspace? I doubt anyone over the age of 100 plays subspace.
Cancer+ Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 Yeah, I agree. This is NOT a technical problem. Moving the sunshine and rainbows.
Samapico Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 You can't set a birthdate before 1909 anywhere, as far as I know... except very specialised programs or website (genealogy-related perhaps)The number format usually used to represent dates/times "starts" in 1909. Too lazy to check it up, but I'm pretty sure about this.
rootbear75 Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 actually, if your referring the the 2-number year codes, i think it starts in like 1960-2059so if you do like 9/12/59, it means 9/12/2059 (at least to a computer)
Samapico Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 Hmmm... actually I think what I was referring to was actually 1970 The value stored with time_t are seconds elapsed since 01/01/1970That's what you get with a commonly used API... but I guess it's totally unrelated to 1909 my bad It probably has more to do with the fact that they don't want to end up with 1908, which is 08, which is the same as 2008, which would be confusing. Maybe check again next year, see if you can still use 1909
