ThunderJam Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 ok im gonna run thru things and remove security programs one at a time, but the problem im encountering seems a lil unique if it is a issue of conflicting with security software. When i run ss, i quickly jump up to almost full cpu usage, the mouse cursor constantly REblinks that is doing work (as in it start the animation, then starts again, and again), and in the task manager processes tab, anywhere from 2-6 continuum processes pop in and out... I got threatfire, spybot, and mccafee running btw. Are spybot or threatfire known to cause problems with ss?
ThunderJam Posted June 7, 2008 Author Report Posted June 7, 2008 A lil more info, now this is kinda puzzling: Turned threatfire and spybot s&d off, allowed cont full access thru mccaffee firewall, then disabled mccafee firewall too... Still same indication with the mouse cursor. The cpu jumps up, but does not stay in upper 90's anymore (its more like 60-85), and only one static process of continuum exists in the task manager processes tab. Any ideas? Oh and this is vista

ThunderJam Posted June 9, 2008 Author Report Posted June 9, 2008 Bump. Still shows up a couple entries in taskbar. Only security stuff im running is mcafee. Can i get a list of known problems in vista that can effect continuum?
Hakaku Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Can i get a list of known problems in vista that can effect continuum?1. Firewalls 2. DEPIt may also be possible that your computer has Data Execution Program (DEP) enabled for all programs. For Vista, go into “Start > Computer > System Properties (button under the link bar) > Advanced System Settings (on the left navigation menu) > Performance (click settings)”. Now move over to the one that says “Data Execution Program”, and add Continuum.exe to the list, and apply. Then you can go back to 'Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only' if you'd like, and it will load fine. That's your entire list, nothing more, nothing less.http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=13180 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v138/zacinu/SubSpacebannt2.pngPSPACE (SourceForge) - Alternative client (source) to Continuum
