I just want to make sure everyone knows about the project me and a few other have been working on.

The zone's name is Digital Core. After my sad attempt to revieve my old zone Armada, I realized I need something new and different. So let me give you an overview.

Game play:

Turf style basing with 4 stationary flags located in the northern part of the base. Basically the map is 1 base that you are spawned into.

Players need to first !buyship and then from there they can fully customize it using !buyupgrade. Ships 1 and 5 are free for new players.

The best way to get points is to kill people to increase the Jackpot, which is then won by holding the four flags for 3 minutes. 100 points per kill / death are added to the jackpot.

There is a powerball, and goals, but its just more fun to use the power ball to help kill others.

Another (new) way to earn points is by playing missions, simply type !mission to view a list of the different missions and catagory's available. This is still new and has a few bugs, but my mid summer we play to have atleast 20 missions per catagory.

Basically if you read the news.txt and use !help with the bots, it should be simple to figure everything out. I still need to add an F1 menu for players, this will make everything a lot easier. There are a lot of people that support the zone, but just don't have a lot of time to devote to it. I notice when ever I sign on, people may not be there, but just wait around and more keep coming.

Thanks to Purge and altF4 for help with the bots.

Thanks to Rick James and Aquarius for the ships.

Thanks to ThunderJam for the safe and splash design.

On a side note, everything is far from done, but put togeather enough to be fun and exciting. I need any help I can get to finish the zone, as well as ANYONE who WANTS to help moderate the zone and be aprat of the staff.

Available positions for people that would like to host events, or anyone that will just keep the peace.

Thanks from Digital Core.

You should use HSCore. It's lonely.

HSCore does seem to be ideal for Digital Core. And it does offer advantages over TWCore in this application.

However...

The only publicly released version of HSCore is an old/outdated version. Further, it is rather hard for anyone except ace ASSS programmers (such as yourself) to get it to compile and run successfully.

If you read over MGB forums, it should be fairly easy. I've got it running on my computer in a test zone. You can always post a question.

I see no point in running bots when more advanced stuff is out there, be it outdated or not. Just my two cents.

Yeah, I would love to get rid of subgame, and use ASSS to its fullest.

I did what I can do, and use the bots that I could find.

So yeah, if anyone wants to program DC to ASSS, then go for it, lol. Also, find me an ASSS host with SSC.

Well, there's not much to program. HSCore basically does what your bots do, but does it better.

Freakmonger is an SSC host with a nix box too, that should already do the trick. I suggest reading up on MGB forums about the HSCore, and maybe after trying, posting some questions on problems you've had, although, you shouldn't really have many.

I'm always willing to give someone a copy of the latest HSCore. That's usually when I update the MGB copy too. Just drop me a line any time.

HZ, HS, and Powerball are all SSC enabled ASSS zones. Shouldn't be too hard to ask for a spot on their boxes.

What do you mean by boxes?

And I doubt I could do this myself, I'm half re!@#$%^&*ed. And simply just don't have the time.

And freakmonger is my host, I can't ever seem to get ahold of him. I have sent him emails and messages for over 3 months now. I gave up on asking him for things.

Boxes meaning servers. Hockey Zone and Hyperspace are on SSCE, run by BlueGoku. Powerball is on their own server and I'm not quite sure who maintains it.

Maybe you expect too much from freak, he's just a host, he's not there to guide you through ASSS. As far as I know, he does provide nix hosting, as I've seen SSCC zones running ASSS, unless it was running on Windows (Doubt that, though) - If freak is ignoring you, you're probably bothering him. Tell him that you've got somebody helping you with ASSS (Ask a competent coder to join you to help you out - and read as much as you can into what is already around. There's loads of help around, and loads of code you can read. It may seem daunting at first, but C isn't that hard, provided you read some well annotated stuff.) - Then he will probably help you out. I believe he calls it "selective replying" or some !@#$%^&* like that.

lol, <3 you too lynx.

I have asked freak one question, and after a while, I gave up on asking.

I don't expect anything from him. He host my zone, and my bots, and thats good enough for me.

Meh, sorry if that seemed condescending, just from my experience, hosts generally don't want to mess around in the affairs of the zones they're hosting. But, if he's ignoring you for other reasons, then I'm sure they're valid. smile.gif

The only question I can remember you asking me about 30 times is your status for SSC Biller and I won't repeat the answer everytime. BlueGoku & myself have bothed asked for and voted for your accpetance on the Biller, but we can't do it by ourselves.

Maybe you have asked something else but after the same question 4 or 5 times I tend to just not even open e-mails.

Yes I will provide ASSS hosting, no I will not set it up for you. I will give you FTP and when you are ready to start the zone I will provide you a way to start it but thats about it.
