To be straight-forward, the problem with making a new SubSpace client has nothing to do with how it's coded, but more to do with Continuum's closed-sourced client which is now the game's standard. Trying to emulate Continuum is very difficult for just that reason, and you also would have to make sure Continuum would recognize the client, meaning that you'd need to incorporate the entire SubSpace protocol et al. as well. Currently, the closest client to becoming the next "SubSpace" is Bak's Discretion client which works on all major operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.). As for making it a web application, that would probably be much more difficult, although you can take a look at Dr.Brain's Chatnut client here.

But anyhow, welcome back to the community. If you'd really like to give it a shot, there's nothing stopping you. But I'd recommend not trying to make the online version SubSpace/Continuum-client compatible.

Yeah... basically there is no way you can 'port' it, you'd have to do it from scratch cause Priitk won't give the source to anyone...

If your objective is to have something working for Linux, I suggest you help out on Discretion instead
