I just tried connecting to my new zone, and I keep on getting the following error (from the biller program.)-

Client connection from billing server ignored.

Any help would be appreciated.

So, how can I get permission to connect to a SSC biller?
Two ways: (1) bribe a Subspace council member, or (2) seek approval from the council for a slot.

Before you can even consider getting a slot, you have to have your zone more or less developped (i.e. a functional public arena). And it's always good to try and attract some visitors to get opinions about your zone before, like that you can improve on the weak spots. If you can't host your zone on your own, there are a number of non-ssc server hosts out there (such as BlueT). Unless you have really good connections, only after your zone is considered stable (i.e. you're not constantly changing things, settings, game type, etc.) should you seek out for SSC hosting. As it stands, probably the only SSC host that will accept zones is SSCI, so you'd have to find a way to get in contact with Death+, or whatever other host you ask.

Didn't Confess stop hosting altogether?

Bottom line is, Static, first try and maintain a stable population on your own biller or on someone else's. Server hosts like BlueT as Hakaku mentioned will host your zone and even provide you with their billing server. Although it may be somewhat impossible to maintain a 20-30 population in a non-SSC zone these days due to the lower Continuum population, most hosts look for promising zones that show potential and would attract additional population once connected to the SSC biller.

All right, Purge. So far the only members that have accessed the zone are some squad members and me. It seems pretty stable right now, with the extremely rare "Slow iteration warning: x ms" message.

I've only managed to get one test public arena up, and I have a few other maps on my computer. How do you host multiple arenas?

If you mean multiple publics, that is only possible if you are using the ASSS server. Since you are using the subgame server, you can only have 1 type of public arena (all public arenas will have identical settings). Additional public arenas are made automatically once the maximum player limit for that arena has been reached.

If you mean multiple subarenas, they can be made by just editing the arenaname.cfg, where arenaname is the name of the arena you wish to create. Or, simply, you can hit ?go arenaname and press Esc + C (if you're sysop or arena owner) and edit the arena's settings from there.

Be aware that all subarenas (arenas outside of public arenas) adopt the settings of the public arenas unless they are edited otherwise.

I tried your suggestion, but 'Esc + C' edits server.cfg, whereas I want to edit only the arena's settings.

And 'Esc + C" does not have an option to change the map .lvl file.

Actually, Esc + C should edit the arenaname.set of the arena you are in, which will also edit the arenaname.cfg. Just make sure you are in the subarena you wish to edit when using Esc + C.

To change the map.lvl file, you must either use ?setlevel arenaname.lvl (if you are arena owner) or *putfile arenaname.lvl (if you are sysop). The lvl file should be in your Continuum directory and be named arenaname.lvl, where arenaname is the name of the subarena you wish to upload the map to.

No that depends on your ArenaMode.

Do a *getfile server.cfg. Look in your continuum folder and rename server.cfg to nameofarena.cfg. Then *putfile nameofarena.cfg and check if that worked.

The configuration settings work at first, but when I exit the game and go back to the subarena, map and .cfg settings reverted back to the pub one.

Oh, thank you, I have my zone in order now. All I have to do now is make maps and edit the ,cfg settings.

If anyone would like to check out my zone, add a custom zone-

Zone name : Acidic

IP : 192.168.1.101

Port : 5530

I can't get it to be added into the directory for some reason.

Doesn't contain much, except for

?go:

Acidic

SB City

#theseus

public arena.

Theseus and SBCity are made by the map makers, The Unliked One..., Fozzy2k, and Pure Griffin Hybrid. Temporary.

And how do I delete map files from the server so that no one else can access them anymore? I don't plan on keeping Theseus.
