Dr Brain Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 Rubiks cubes aren't that hard to solve. I can solve them in under five minutes, usually.
»Lynx Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 Yes, however, you're Dr Brain. We're mere humans.
»D1st0rt Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 I had friends in high school who would solve 4x4 cubes at lunch, apparently the pattern to solve them scales to larger dimensions
Dav Posted May 28, 2008 Author Report Posted May 28, 2008 I can solve all but the last 4 corners, need to work out how to complete it. I refuse to use a guide to figure it out. Problem is i don't currently own a rubiks cube.
Incomplete Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 I pulled the stickers off of my one and stuck them in the correct places.
Dr Brain Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 I had friends in high school who would solve 4x4 cubes at lunch, apparently the pattern to solve them scales to larger dimensions It does. I solved a 5x5x5 one afternoon using only what I knew about 3x3x3 and 4x4x4 cubes.
Sharpflame Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 I used to be able to do the 3x3x3's, not so great, best time in one minute ten seconds. I've still got my nice lubed down great working cube. Sadly, I forget how to do the last step.
L.C. Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 I don't understand the math behind it...and I've had my cousin try explain and show it to me before. X_x
»Lynx Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 There's a way of moving each colour to a different place using a basic formula, it's just moving it near the end of the puzzle that's a pain.. :/
Sharpflame Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 I just memorized turning combos. Do this sequence when it looks like that to get it to look like that, then do this sequence. The boxes usually come with a booklet now, which tells exactly how to do it. Memorizing it is the hard part.
