Hakaku Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Well, I didn't want to create a whole topic for this, but since the original link went down I thought it best to attach it here for future reference. It includes an overview of SubSpace, some history, and interviews. Note: I did not write this.SubSpace_Essay.pdf http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v138/zacinu/SubSpacebannt2.pngPSPACE (SourceForge) - Alternative client (source) to Continuum

Hakaku Posted May 26, 2008 Author Report Posted May 26, 2008 Well, I can't edit the pdf myself (since I didn't create it) without entirely remaking it, but http://guide.subspace.net redirects to http://getcontinuum.com anyways. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v138/zacinu/SubSpacebannt2.pngPSPACE (SourceForge) - Alternative client (source) to Continuum
Aceflyer Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Nice essay. Thanks for posting it. Wish we still had ~40,000 players today.
L.C. Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Wish we still had ~40,000 players today.Perhaps we still do, just that there are less and less people that play the game frequently and daily. Dr Brain Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 Hyperspace has 13,617 at latest count (2,337 own ships). I wouldn't say 40,000 is unreasonable. Freedom is the right to be wrong.

I wouldn't say 40,000 is unreasonable. How about combining Hyperspace with Trench Wars, DSB, EG, MGS, T3, etc? The picture isn't complete if you just take one zone (that isn't even the most populated, even). You have to take all the current zones, even the empty ones and the non-SSC zones and networks. Then you have to combine all that into one big, fat pipe and calculate from there. If non-priit people still had access to the ssc biller we could get better data, but such is life. Freedom is the right to be wrong.
