Dav Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 !@#$%^&*le sais it all. Finland were great and they almost come last...
»Lynx Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 I never watch it, but when I do see it, I understand that there is a need for a special Olympics.
The Apache Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 it's just all political, countries just vote for their neighbours or who they happen to be on good terms with lol. not point in having a song contest, they might as well just get people to vote for a country lol.
»doc flabby Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 I wanted Latvia to win! Greese had a strong entry too i though. I thought the UK's entry musically was better than some of the others (for example spain). But...as Wogan said its no longer a music compe!@#$%^&*ion.
»Lynx Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 Euro-vision = X-factor for deaf reASSS with no dress sense.. I can't see how it can be taken seriously. :/
rootbear75 Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 would you guys care to explain what the !@#$%^&* it is to us North American folk who never heard
Cyb3rMonk3y Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 (edited) it blows, i got stoned and went to watch doctor who and ended up turning on the tv to see some eastern European singing like a constipated cat instead o.O Edited May 25, 2008 by Cyb3rMonk3y
rootbear75 Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 is it like the European version of American Idol?
Dav Posted May 25, 2008 Author Report Posted May 25, 2008 I wanted Latvia to win! Greese had a strong entry too i though. I thought the UK's entry musically was better than some of the others (for example spain). But...as Wogan said its no longer a music compe!@#$%^&*ion. Yeah. Wogan is the best part of the whole thing though, he just sits there and ripping into it. is it like the European version of American Idol? no its a horrible concept where 40odd countries enter the most horrendous music they can come up with then vote for eact other to host the next one. Sometimes something cool happens (Lordi 2 years ago, Finland's entry yesterday) but its rare. Just a a measure of how poor it is... It was responsible for spawning ABBA...
Drake7707 Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 it used to be more about the music, they should never have changed the rules that everyone can sing in whatever language they want >.> (it used to be the languages spoken in the country itself). It went downhill from there, now it's like a circus :/
Drake7707 Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Yeah, I was checking some videos, and I checked France... WTF he/she (don't remember) sings in english? WTF That must have been the first non-french langunage on french tv, all series are dubbed , suckers
Dav Posted May 26, 2008 Author Report Posted May 26, 2008 apparently the french wernt very happy about the use of english in that song.
Samapico Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 Who chooses the songs for their country? Some could really search a bit harder :/ lol! From Metal archivesShortly after winning the Eurovision Song Contest, Lordi held a concert at Market Square in Helsinki, where 90,000 Fins helped Lordi celebrate their victory by singing along on the song "Hard Rock Hallelujah". This earned them the world record for largest sing-a-long.
Dav Posted May 27, 2008 Author Report Posted May 27, 2008 here some junk gets put top a phone in, usually all as bad as each other and a few people vote for who they want i think.
