My p-loss is normally between 1% to 2.5% at the most but recently it has been alot higher than that over the past few days so i ran a trace but this is all it gave me -->

Tracing Zone: SSCC Metal Gear CTF IP Address: 209.59.175.210

Hop IP Address Host Name Loss(%) Min/Avg/Max Ping

--- --------------- -------------------------------- ------- ----------------

1 192.168.1.1 Livebox-6690 0.5 0 0 30

2 ... ... 0.0 1000000 0 0

3 ... ... 0.0 1000000 0 0

Cycles: 198

Any ideas?

Are you one a wireless connection? Does this happen in every zone? It seems from the trace that you have a firewall blocking it, so I can't really tell whether or not the lag is caused by your connection or the server's. Try going into a zone and typing " ?packetloss ", tell me what it says.

"PACKETLOSS servertoyou: 4.8% youtoserver: 0.3%"

Is the trace function a separate program from continuum then? otherwise i don't get how it can be my firewall :S

edit: ye i am on a wireless connection

some firewalls block the "TRACERT" and "PING" packets from going out/into the network

the continuum trace basically does "TRACERT " in the command prompt... its just more pretty

Don't worry about the trace too much, it seems the server is at fault (4.8%) according to your packetloss, meaning that somewhere between your ISP and the server you're getting lag/packetloss. Seeing how you also have wireless, the 0.3% should be expected (I myself get 3.9%).

Basically if the problem is recent, the lag might just go away in a bit. But for now all I can recommend you is to avoid running other applications in the background and be as near as possible to your modem to see if it affects your lag. Try playing in other zones in the meantime if you really can't play in MG.
