Dav Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 not that much, he wouldn't say how much exactly but he has had long enough to build his no claims.
rootbear75 Posted May 24, 2008 Author Report Posted May 24, 2008 women in general are safer drivers... not all, but most. they drive at the posted speed limit, they have two hands on the steering wheel at 10 and 2, they take FOREVER to make a left turn at an intersection because they wait until the light turns red, so it's impossible to get into an accident... they always signal even if it's not necessary, they never cut anyone off... etc. tbh, i don't think it's a men vs women thing. a lot of accidents happen because people drive too slow, or they step on the brakes for no reason at all, or they don't yield to the right-of-way. i think nervous drivers cause accidents... and taxi drivers lol.see thats the problemin fact, the so-called "bad drivers" actually follow the DMV Driver's Handbook to a T. also, in reference to the topic (to which we are now completely sidetracked off)I might get it cause personally, i like speeding, i like driving fast, but i DO NOT have the sort of income that will provide the increase in insurance premiums, nor can i afford the 200$ tickets... so its a possibility when i get my first paycheck (just started a job at the airport) that i might sign up for this for "peace of mind" oh and another thing... 2 1/2x overtime for working on a holiday guess what im doing...TRAINING LOL... so im getting 300 bucks for sitting a room, getting taught lol... aww... the dream job
»Lynx Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 I got paid 50 in cash a day for a year, for doing absolutely nothing in a photo shop while only being 16 - 17... That's 100USD a day... I win.
»Lynx Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 I worked whenever I liked - just rang up my boss (My girlfriends dad) and said "You need a hand" and he'd say "Yeah" and just let me run the shop. I am pretty good with people and customers, and knew pretty much everything there was to know - so running the place was no biggie at all. On Sundays I got paid 70, and the shop previously wasn't even open on a Sunday. They were making profits, however, the Boss hated England. Pretty much every time I talked to him, he was talking about how much he hated it, so he moved to Spain. In a desperate plea to relate this post... While working there, I was learning to drive... That was expensive. Driving -> Insurance...

Most of my near accidents have been caused by women not driving properly, they also panic alot and not concentrate on what you have to do to stop the accident from happen.

I would say its a men vs women thing more towards a younger age. You would'nt be able to find a woman racing 200 mph down your street easily. More likely a young male would be more profound to do that. I agree that nervous drivers cause accidents but I also think over confident drivers are to cause accidents too. I also agree that taxi drivers cause accidents too. You know how like 5 of them race to get to a passenger.
Incomplete Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 Then they accidentally run the passenger over
darkhosis Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 darkhosis... how the !@#$%^&* do you pay so little for insurance? lol. i don't get it =/ i pay close to $500/month now... but i'm insured on 3 cars. i'm selling one soon, but even on two cars it'll be about $400/month =/well one reason is that i drive a 2003 pontiac grand am GT. not exactly a sporty car, but i'm not really sure if that affects it so much since i'm not paying for comprehensive and just liability. i was pretty astonished when i found out my rate too - it's hard to explain. i went in there expecting $100-$150 a month best case scenario. my old insurance company paid out over $60,000 on my behalf, yet i'm still only paying about $400 a year for insurance. my credit rating is in the top 2%, which figures into it somehow or another. i know about that because the insurance agent told me about how i qualified for mutual or some !@#$%^&* because of my high credit rating, otherwise i wouldnt have. i dunno all the insurance jargon or whatever. also, she said that the wreck that i was "at fault" for, was over 36 months ago so it didnt affect it as much as it woudl have (this despite the fact that I couldnt drive for like 20 months cause i was in prison anyways). my insurance had also lapsed for those 20 months, which increases your rates some (apparently not so much). i live in rural texas, and dont use my car for work/school, so that lowered the rates. honestly, i have a hard time explaining it myself. i know there is a huge diff between if you have comprehensive and just minimal liability though. you've probably got comprehensive insurance, underinsured motorist coverage, etc, which will increase the price a lot - especially with a high value car. i was so shocked when she quoted me the rate that i even explained to her about the automobile wreck, alcohol involvement, etc. i was worried that maybe if i ever got in another wreck they'd say i had misinformed them or something and refuse to cover it? it was just very bizarre.

Dav Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 1. no 2. no If i could afford a car worth driving like an idiot in id save it for a track day.
rootbear75 Posted May 24, 2008 Author Report Posted May 24, 2008 (edited) i dont think you "nay-sayers" still understand the point. Say you screw up one time, and you get caught by the police for going 1 mile over the speed limit (yes one mile over is STILL SPEEDING), wouldnt you rather someone pay the ticket instead? its not for you to drive like an idiot, because like i have pointed out MANY times, YOU STILL GET THE POINTS Edited May 24, 2008 by rootbear75
Dav Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 as I have said before, in the UK you get the limit + 10% so provided tyou drive with care you shouldn't be caught out.

Dav Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 yeah I know what you are trying to say. I'm just saying that the only people i know that have been caught out generally didn't give a !@#$%^&* about the speed limit at the time. Im very anti bad driving. I guess because i cycle most of the time i'm highly vulnerable when people drive like idiots. e.g today a driver was doing about 50 in a 30 limit, ignored my right signal and almost took me out...
»Lynx Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 It's pretty hard to get caught speeding in the UK, unless you're doing something ridiculous.
L.C. Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 In Hungary, I think you have to drive about or around 100,000 miles to be considered a driver or something.
rootbear75 Posted May 26, 2008 Author Report Posted May 26, 2008 hmm, someone who doesnt approve of the insurance MIGHT buy it? LOL
ESCANDAL0SA Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 when bikers and cars are involved in an accident it is almost ALWAYS the biker's fault. you guys take up a whole !@#$%^&*ing lane as if it belongs to you, and you expect people to yield and slow down and drive behind your slow !@#$%^&*es. so, if i ever run a biker over, i honestly wouldn't care because it wouldn't be my fault. it's ridiculous... i'm always screaming out my window, swearing at them, they give me high blood pressure.

There are too many idiots out there, but most in my experience obey the rules.
Incomplete Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Yeah the comment on cyclists is pretty stupid.
»Lynx Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 I just do a wheelie down the pavement really fast.. They don't move.. They get a wheel in the head.. GG.
