»Maverick Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 I believe this has been tried in The Netherlands aswell but I haven't heard anything from it since it was on the news about a year ago.
Dav Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 this is stupid, Just means people are more likly to park in dangerous locations because they know its all paid for... DOnt think that kind of thing should be allowed at all.
Trained Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 I wish they covered suspended drivers license and no insurance tickets.. I sure would save alot of money and alot of trips to jail.
»Lynx Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 (edited) I'm going to beat them to their next idea... KillerCare International is dedicated to providing our members with timely, secure, and verifiable payments. The advantages of allowing "MRNS" to help you with your warrant for arrest: * Saves you money. * Saves you time. * No trips to court. * No time off work. * No attorney needed. * No court cost. * No forced anal sex, ever! * "Self Defence" classes paid, guaranteed! * Advanced Weapon classes paid, guaranteed! from their FAQ:Q:What kinds of murder are covered?A: Those where people die Q:Are there any tickets you don’t cover?A:Nothing Please note that MRNS can't accept any liability for any cases which did not, and probably will never result in the defence not being prosecuted. This won't work too great in court either, any half-brained judge will see that the idiot who was driving like a !@#$%^&* has actually taken insurance to drive like a !@#$%^&*, and although s/he does care about the reciprocation's, only just about cares. Aceflyer Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 The spelling on that site could be better. Are we sure it's not a prank?
darkhosis Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 Ninety percent of people that get tickets are found guilty when they fight it in court.that's a load of trash.. if you fight something like a speeding ticket in court, you'll get off a lot more than 10% of the time. many times the police officer in question doesnt even show up.
Cancer+ Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 I just had a hearing. The police officer showed up and I lost. She was a !@#$%^&*. Anyways, this is a better site. http://njection.com/speedtrap/default.aspx?GroupID=40
JDS Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 parking tickets are just a money grab, and now we have money grabs to pay your money grabs... you guys sure get suckered in a lot if you would even consider buying this
rootbear75 Posted May 20, 2008 Author Report Posted May 20, 2008 (edited) no, people wont "drive like ASSS" they only cover the MONETARY part of the ticket.if you go to jail, get points, etc, they DO NOT PAY OR COVER THAT You also ONLY GET 7 moving violations a year that they cover Edited May 20, 2008 by rootbear75
Aceflyer Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 parking tickets are just a money grab, and now we have money grabs to pay your money grabs... you guys sure get suckered in a lot if you would even consider buying this They don't cover parking tickets. Read above.
JDS Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 oh, well i cant immagine they would like to pay our re!@#$%^&*ed fines for traffic violations... like 300$ for speeding??
Dav Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 whatever traffic offence they do cover will be promoted as people will not worry/care. Fines are there to make people think twice.
sil Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 oh, well i cant immagine they would like to pay our re!@#$%^&*ed fines for traffic violations... like 300$ for speeding??The point is to make it like insurance, people pay monthly for something that is not all that likely to happen often.whatever traffic offence they do cover will be promoted as people will not worry/care. Fines are there to make people think twice. As Root said, they only pay the fine, not the consequences of the ticket. A ticket puts points on your license, you only get so many points before your license is suspended and then you cannot drive anymore. And frankly, everyone speeds anyway.
»1587200 Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 (edited) Just what this country needs, another insurance company... But if it's true, I didn't see speeding anywhere on the 'tickets they don't cover' list. Lets see... 10mph over the limit in Minnesota is around $150, 20mph is around $300. Seven of those a year = $2100. $13/mo * 7 months = $91, 1 ticket/month. $91 < $2100, but just like any other insurance company, they won't fight to get the ticket off your record. So 7 speeding tickets in 7 months = somewhere around 11 points on the MN driving point scale, 10pts = license revoked for 3 years. Not worth it. Anyway, on to more important things like...Detroit punishing the Penguins for thinking they're worthy enough to play against the Red Wings... Edited May 20, 2008 by Guest
Incomplete Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 Is it easy to get points on your license in America? We only need to be doing 5mph over the limit to get 3 points.
Dav Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 depends on the limit, you are allowed to have 10% here so 5mph over in a 30 gets a ticket but 5mph over in a 70 is ok.
Samapico Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 That's stupid...People will take this thinking they 'have the right' to speed or ignore red lights 7 times a year. You also ONLY GET 7 moving violations a year that they cover'only' ? You even hightlighted 'only' ???? Dude how many tickets a year do you get? Anyone who gets anywhere near 7 tickets a year should be permanently banned from the roads or something. As root and syrus pointed out, there is no way it can be worth it... You'll lose your license before you can even 'take advantage of' that insurance. Also, if you speed or cross a red light, you can crash your car, and possibly your life, or even other people's lives. That insurance doesn't cover any of that

(speed limit varies between 55 (suburbia) - 65 (rural) ) also, you can still fight the ticket. but they will still only pay the face value, not any court costs, etc.. ThunderJam Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 (edited) Yea pretty bad idea, gives people the wrong idea about the importance of driving safely btw...You also ONLY GET 7 moving violations a year that they coverYou get a moving violation more than every month and a half? Mind you this 7 doesnt count parking ones and w/e else it said, so 7 they cover in a year is probably like 9 tickets gained in a year. If you need that much coverage your re!@#$%^&*ed. Edited May 21, 2008 by ThunderJam
rootbear75 Posted May 21, 2008 Author Report Posted May 21, 2008 its not bad, because it can protect people from police going on a ticket spree... also, if you get a speeding ticket, ONCE, just ONCE, this helps by not having to worry about the increased insurance premiums.think about it, how much do people 16-25 (the "high risk" group) on average pay for insurance... i think it goes for like $1,000-$1,200 every 6 months (on average) ONE ticket could bump that up a hefty sum... the ticket insurance 1) covers the increase in premiums, and 2) covers the ticket... 13 bucks is not a lot for peace of mind that you wont have to worry about ur insurance premiums skyrocketing
