Guest Mighty Boosh Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Since I did a system recover thingy on my computer I can't get onto Continuum. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing it but it doesn't make a difference All the zones load up fine but when I try to conect to one of them the screen goes black, then a green and white box appears which says 'SIGNAL NOT VALID H: 75.09KHZ V:60. 06HZ' ... then the box goes away and the screen stays black (but I think I can here the game going on in the backround) until I press escape which brings me back. Any help please?
rootbear75 Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 (edited) thats a monitor problem...check ur cables, and video card settings also try windowed mode Edited May 18, 2008 by rootbear75
»Dav Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 make sure the resolution you are trying to play in is the same as the resolution you have your desktop in. Many screens will do this if you try to run them with the wrong settings.
Guest Mighty Boosh Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 Thanks, it works in windowed mode now. But its a bit annoying - how do you change the continuum resolution?
»Dav Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 tick the appropriate resolution in the resolution toolbar. Also you can do it in the profile (probably better as it will remember the settings) NOTE: in profile the x 32 at the end means the colour depth, ignore this number. Its the first two you want.
Guest Mighty Boosh Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 For some reason the resolution toolbar only has the option for 'Windowed' and in the profile it only has the option for <default>. What is the default resolution? Then I'll just change my screen's resolution to fit.
»Dav Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 it wont be your resolution set on the PC it will be the actual monitors limits. You have an option for windows but should also have a list of resolutions available. What do you see in that list exactly?
rootbear75 Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 default is whatever's selected in the resolution menu. If you select a resolution in the profile menu, it overrides whatever's in the resolution menu (unless you open it and change it again)
Guest Mighty Boosh Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 These two links are what my resolution menu's look like. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll284/S...pg?t=1211391155 http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll284/S...pg?t=1211391292 *Sorry, the image thing on here didn't work for some reason*
Guest Mighty Boosh Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 This is a clearer image of the 2nd link. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll284/S...pg?t=1211391625

Guest Mighty Boosh Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 ^ Thats weird, but i'll give it a try. :]
Samapico Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 I would have tried changing the resolution settings from the registry
rootbear75 Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 http://forums.trenchwars.org/showpost.php?...amp;postcount=1HOW THE !@#$%^&* DOES THAT WORK?!
Hakaku Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 @ Sama: changing the registry won't affect Continuum, I can't tell you why, only that I suggested it, a person tried it, and it didn't work. Doc Flabby quoted that same link, and it fixed the problem for the person. HOW THE !@#$%^&* DOES THAT WORK?!It just does -- When Trench Wars first released Continuum 0.40 when it wasn't suppose to (due to some problems with the installer), this same problem occured for all users. Unlike the current issue, it was mostly fixed by just entering a zone and exiting right after.
Guest Mighty Boosh Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 Well it worked for me And after you can just re-check the boxes and the resolution thing stays fixed
