Continuum Freezes my PC

When I play Continuum, it freezes my computer at a random time. Sometimes it doesn't happen for an hour, and sometimes as close as ten minutes.

It only happens when I play Continuum, and though my computer is fairly old, it should be able to handle Continuum easily.

Any solutions to my problem?

(While playing, I have no antispyware programs running, since it won't work with them on, and no other applications are running to overload my pc.)

Can you give us a specification for your computer, the OS you are running and details of any other software you frequently run?

I have found the problem...

My computer didn't like running Continuum in fullscreen. I used it in a window last night, and it didn't freeze for over an hour of playing.

Problem resolved.

just because it is an emachones doesn't mean its the problem.

Have you got the latest graphics drivers on your machine? Sounds like it may be an issue with your graphics card.

I'm pretty sure I do. I have DirectX 9.0, which I think is the latest driver.

It may be the card that is my problem, so maybe there's a certain setting that Continuum should be run with. I'll look and see, because my card has given me trouble before with other programs.

ResChanger? What is that? Would it attempt to change Continuum's resolution by any chance? If so, Continuum probably doesn't like that :/

ResChanger is a program that came with my Graphics Card. It just changes the resolution and the bit color setting. It's matching the same setting that Continuum has, so it should be no problem.

it can be the problem. emachines break very easily. the problem could be as simple as a corroded cable, or as !@#$%^&*ed up as busted capacitors on the MB

true, but if this were the case the issues would be more widespread, as this is a continuum specific problem its more likely to be a computability issue.

So, any suggestions on what I should do to fix my problem?

direct X should be OK.

You need to find out what graphics card you have in your computer, go the the website of the people that mnake it and download the most recent driver for it.
