That does remind me of something random but worth a thought.

 

There are a lot of movies out there where either the whole or parts of New York City are destroyed by apocalyptic forces, whether they be aliens from outer space, falling asteroids, or giant tidal waves. I wonder if some people are subconsciously grouping those movies with the actual event.

 

The only movie featuring the destruction of NYC after 9/11 was "The Day After Tomorrow". As I said, images of New York City being overrun by CGI hurricanes are nothing new from Hollywood, but the perception that NYC was invincible no longer existed and so people may have taken that movie seriously. The fact that we are in the middle of a global warming scare is obvious.
