Question. With 2.9million hits last month, why don't we have a direct link to a subspace download website (see figure 1.0)

I think that's a good idea actually.

 

In fact, I'm surprised to see that there's no link to GetContinuum.com, the official SubSpace/Continuum portal, in the entire SSForum.net homepage. This even includes the nav bar, which has links to SSDL, SSCentral, and other places.

I think this is a good idea, perhaps a smaller button with a design more consistent with the layout of the ssforum.net logo, or another button on the site though

I have been using IPB forums for a while, and I don't think the advertisement shown above is possible. Maybe just something a little more obvious in the JJS SSNAV bar would be best, as that's shown on all of the SS pages anyway.

Can't you just make an image and put it off to the right? Or just make a whole new banner with both "SSForum.net" and "Download Continuum Now" on it (this will of course sacrifice the ssforum.net link, but who needs it?)

I think it would be possible if the SSForum logo is getcontinnum.com instead, I think that there's a way of changing it from linking to home to getcontinuum...

The subspace icon should point to the download; leave ssf logo alone.

Yep. GetContinuum.com as the first link under Community Resources --> Community Sites would be nice.

 

Alternatively the SUBSPACE image on the left side of the nav bar could be a clickable image linking to GetContinuum.com, if that's possible to implement.

in JDS's version, the icon is below the words... in the one i tweaked, they are next to each other..

its more of a personal preference

You have to realize too that not everyone has the same resolution. What may be quasi-right for some would be the center for me, and just look ugly. I think a link on the nav bar would be a better solution, on the right next to "Subspace" w/a shield and some wordage. Less links to maintain, it's everywhere the navbar is, and it would get more exposure.
