op2rules Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 (edited) I'm just thinking, most of us were happy when flag games could be swapped around really quickly with a speedy brickwarp, or a rush wzl (yes I know brickwarping was on a reset before the weazel rush came out) that could kill an entire team alone. All these ammo complaints, uneven ships, blah blah... Wouldn't it just be better to be on the old system? Nobody complained then, I never lagged... I can barely play now. My opinions for the ammo is since HS is a basing zone its kinda dumb, the only purpose for it is to stop high btying, which was just fixed. It all just boils down to... the zone was fine before... change is good, but not always. Comment. SHOOT! Put this is zone dev... meant to be in hyperspace. Edited May 3, 2008 by op2rules Quote
Aishi Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 ^And in addition, I'm especially lagging now....*COUGH* ASSS SERVERWhat is this new 4200 ms Im receivingThis is outrageous >=( Anyway, i think op2 is right...Even the rush weasel era needed more skill than this...At least you had to time your reps, rather than spam items and hope you can kill someone. HS has become a lot more grindier, where the people that play 24/7 are better than people that play 5 hours a week or something like that. I feel this shouldnt be the case. Pros should always prevail =) "It all just boils down to... the zone was fine before... change is good, but not always."Once again, ^ Quote
Acer Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 This topic is useless. Its not going to change back. You guys will just complain again and again. Quote
Unix Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Old weasel was overpowered. HS was nearing a super zone. Quote
Syrith Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 (edited) Old weasel was overpowered. HS was nearing a super zone. It wasn't overpowered, just a bit newb friendly (though most newbs using cyclone teamkilled their teammates). One of the only reasons that it started being used was the rocket nerf on levis. Dr Brain Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 The team module hasn't changed. So any problem with teams would have been present on the old setup too. No one likes HS until we change it. In a year, people will whine about how awesome things were on the "old" item set, and ask for us to go back. That's how things were during the times you are asking us to go back to. Quote
vetta64 Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 ^ Learn to adjust and you will enjoy the new settings as much as the old, whiners. Quote
Aishi Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Well, i can tell you i wont miss this reset, and i dont know if im going to be here for the next. Id rather have it be a super zone in base and the old center settingsthan a grinding zone where basing and centering sucks Quote
vetta64 Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 basing sux cause the same 10 ppl win the basing game whenever they feel like it in priv, and srew everyone else, not because of the new settings. Quote
Sharpflame Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 I think the zone changes since the reset are an overall improvement. People who think that ammo is evil should just deal with it or leave. Ammo isn't bad in any way in my opinion. It just costs money. Yes, there's a few problems lingering around, but less than there was right after the reset. Remember the superpowered terrier and plasma cannon and stuff? Now about the only issue is a few underpowered ships and maybe an overpowered one. Which are being fixed. I'd rather not go back (never expected it to go back anyways), instead let's keep improving. If people would think about it for a few minutes, they'd realize that the zone is a lot more fun than it used to be when attacking a base took (literally) 4 hours. Quote
QUAX Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 I know the buying complaint is tired but I think there is some validity to it. Having to buy ammo completely kills the population in the zone when it starts costing money to try and get a kill here and there. Example, I come into the zone at 11pm EST and there are only 3 or 4 people centering. I try to play but then realize I am spending more money shooting bullets, items, or bombs than I am making by killing the three people online. So, to not waste money, I leave the zone. Durring a 4 hour period several others enter then leave the zone for the same reason. No one wants to waste money. Also having to go to center safe or an ammo depot in center and losing your bty to buy ammo kills any chance of making good money durring a flag game. This makes flag games almost not worth it UNLESS you are defending but the other freq usually wises up and quits feeding the defenders. What happens next is the defenders get bored or impatient and decide to win a pathetic JP so they can go back to centering and try to bty there hopefully. I know Dr. Brain said the push was to shorten flag games but I can't honestly think of one good reason to do that. I know a few people don't like long flag games but I would bet that most people that play perfer them. The potential for a good payout is always there with a long flag game. I would at least make it so we could raise the JP significantly by milking flags or something. It seems like the only way to make any decent money now is to have a good ship and vulch !@#$%^&* the center arena and try to bounty up. Thats fun and all but there is little skill in that whith all of the WBs that just run and SoP all the time. Flagging is when true rushing or defending skills are demonstrated. I don't expect anything to change but I figure if more people offer intelligent and reasonable points to the issue then perhaps some of our suggestions might be considered or viewed at least. /end rant.
