The Real Picard Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 I'm looking for a Subspace Coffee Mug and a Subspace Insulated 20 oz Cup. Any one know of any out there?
»Lynx Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 I remember seeing some years ago, best thing now would be to make it yourself. rootbear has a lot of these kinda websites, ask him.
»Purge Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 I have a mug with my face on it... do you want that instead?
Samapico Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 Subspace Insulated... wow that sounds like some Star Trek technology
Sass Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 Yep....http://www.beamesderfer.net/works/temp/ss_mug.jpg
X`terrania Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Haha, come on Picard! Only 15oz though, on the insulated one ;/ http://www.zazzle.com/subspacechaos/products http://www.zazzle.com/subspacechaos/produc...751969647600701 http://www.zazzle.com/subspacechaos/produc...662274629233747 http://www.zazzle.com/subspacechaos/produc...391982458040024 Etc.
Sass Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Just wondering, are we in the ss community permitted to use those images for profit - I should say, are we permitted to use anything ss related for profit? As far as I know, someone does own the copyright to the subspace game and I'm not sure where Continuum fits in. Does anyone REALLY know?

Helps pay off the Chaos Zone though.
Hakaku Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Although I believe Brilliant Digital Entertainment still holds the rights to most of SubSpace's artwork, I highly doubt that they would (or could) actively pursue the matter. From the looks of it as well, I wouldn't be surprised that anything related to SubSpace and its rights got lost and/or forgotten along the way. On a side note, marketing SubSpace/Continuum related items has been done many times in the past.
Sass Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 On a side note, marketing SubSpace/Continuum related items has been done many times in the past. Yeah, true. Stealing cars has been done many times too. Let's press on!
Hakaku Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Difference is, society will take action against those who steal cars, which are an important part of daily life and not to mention expensive to replace. When it comes to duplicating a picture, society really doesn't care that much (face it, the price for an 11 year old SS picture < car) Don't blame me, I never said it was morally right, I just said that it has been done since VIE went down. If you want to become the RIAA and DMCA of SubSpace, then go ahead, that's your own choice. But if you want to criticize me, then maybe you should start with yourself. Continuum as a whole is basically stolen code from SubSpace, not to mention the server software still used. This website, along with all other general websites, zone websites, etc. are technically violating the same copyright as those who make a T-Shirt with a printed image on it. Sure, maybe not all of it is directly claiming profit or revenue, but that doesn't stop it from being a violation of the copyright laws that are bound to the original sources.
Dav Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Surly if the money is poured stright back into the game it changes it to a not for profit thing. If you start to make money i know there will be an issue with copyright.

If we were to use anything from SS to make profit and get sued for it then we could make a big thing about it and get it on the news and the newspapers. People will read and hear about it then SS would be repopulated.

Sass Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 But if you want to criticize me, then maybe you should start with yourself. I checked around with a few other folks all of whom didn't really know the legal rights of ss. However, I'm not the one endorsing use of the material which might or might not be covered under copyright law. It would be interesting to really know rather than having folks try to guess or validate why they should use the material. IF you do know for a fact, please state it; an opinion isn't needed.

Its probably essential that we know if stuff like this is going on in the community. Somone out there has to know, if not im sure we could source some free advice somewhere.
The Real Picard Posted April 29, 2008 Author Report Posted April 29, 2008 Yep....http://www.beamesderfer.net/works/temp/ss_mug.jpg I WANT THAT CUP!!!
Samapico Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 The lawyer's power of Hoch might know something about that I remember a few topics about copyright issues, but they were mostly about using the graphics and such.
»Lynx Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 There's nobody to fund the attacking lawsuit.
X`terrania Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Lol. We could just dump it all on Priitk.
