Traced. Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 (edited) question:To fight in the no sig tourney, I can not have a sig.....so I have to sell it, and then re-buy it?I will lose money that way, is there another way this will be taken care of. I hope so. Edited May 5, 2008 by Traced.
Unix Posted May 5, 2008 Author Report Posted May 5, 2008 Just to clarify something about ship items, I forgot to make sure it was 100% clear.... Should you ships have a restricted item in the FFA seeding not only will you be stripped of that item, but you will also forfeit one death. However, you will have your item replaced with an item of your choosing, then after the match it will be replaced to it's original item. If you do not want to be penalized the one death and you do not want to purchase an item to subs!@#$%^&*ute it for the FFA match you must notify myself at least 24 hrs prior to match so that I am made aware of it so that I can edit it for you before the FFA begins. During the HSDT however, you must notify me in your email about any restricted items otherwise you forfeit your first match.
rootbear75 Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 (edited) 6) If we use a number generator, who's to say I didnt fake it and just put whoever I wanted to put?have some unrelated party put people in each slot.i volunteer since im not participating, nor do i know the skill of each player also, instead of having duel, just have a free for all, in a mock-up of the center sector in the practice arena for like 10 minutes. Then take THAT rating then use it to match people Edited May 5, 2008 by rootbear75
Dadoc Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 (edited) Are there any plans for an "open" (not squad only) duel tourney maybe sometime down the road? Some of us newbs might like to duel too, you know? Even if it means only one round. (The qualifying seed match sounds like fun.) <=== Seed#: 459 I like the idea of 2vs2 (or even 4vs4) tourney. This is the kind which should require squads.Especially for the 4vs4. Maybe I should start a new thread for that? Edited May 7, 2008 by Kelaiah

nolan123 Posted May 10, 2008 Report Posted May 10, 2008 well i made a ffa arena and i have it saved on my comp. i think i did a good job on it, if anyone wants to see it just pm me ingave :/
Gar Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Yeah, I second that motion for a tournament that has nothing to do with squads, which by nature most of us can't form or join. HyperSpace already caters to privs - you could at least make it less obvious. I for one would like to participate, and I'm sure many people are anxious to see me possibly owned... but the excessively complicated rules of this event make me simply give up at attempting to figure out how I can even enter.
QUAX Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 I agree as well. This will give more players an opportunity to participate.
Suicide_Run Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Well Unix wants to promote squad creation for later events....i think? Conspiracy Theory: Unix just wants a reason to reduce the # of people playing without needing to host/do anything about it D=

Gar Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 If he/she wanted to set up squads for the next type of tournament, then make people set up squads for the next type of tournament. Don't screw this one up for another event we won't be able to participate in...
Unix Posted May 14, 2008 Author Report Posted May 14, 2008 If he/she wanted to set up squads for the next type of tournament, then make people set up squads for the next type of tournament. Don't screw this one up for another event we won't be able to participate in...You would never of had a DT in here in the first place if I didnt try and put this one together, why are you complaining when the first version is like this? If you wanna participate it's pretty easy, make a squad of five and sign up for it. The point of making DT squad oriented is to try and promote the squads to grow from nothing into a little of something, this is a foundation, a starting point for HS squads. Do you honestly think this will be the first and last squad based event that's going to happen? Next one will be a lot more squad based and if a simple DT isnt able to get squads somewhat !@#$%^&*embled and draw some lines in where players are, dont you think an event that is completely squad base is going to be a lot more hectic?
rootbear75 Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 i think the problem everyone is trying to say is: You have NO experience as a League CoordinatorYou are too new to the game to know how everything works and how everyone likes things.
Unix Posted May 14, 2008 Author Report Posted May 14, 2008 Actually no one has said that. And if you knew that I was staff from somewhere else you wouldnt be saying that since I do have experience with leagues, maybe not "a lot", but more than most. I'm only pretty new to HS, not the game itself.

Gar Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 You would never of had a DT in here in the first place if I didnt try and put this one together, why are you complaining when the first version is like this? If you wanna participate it's pretty easy, make a squad of five and sign up for it.This is a fallacy. Our otherwise lack of a tournament does not mean yours is great. As for 'easily making a squad of five', do you really think most of us can do that in the face of your exceedingly complex rules? Some people show up, some don't, some people show up at different times, some don't participate at all, 2 out of 5 duel... what? The point of making DT squad oriented is to try and promote the squads to grow from nothing into a little of something, this is a foundation, a starting point for HS squads. You do realize that1: There aren't enough people for HS to have true squads?2: HS is already factioned into informal squads? Do you honestly think this will be the first and last squad based event that's going to happen? Next one will be a lot more squad based and if a simple DT isnt able to get squads somewhat !@#$%^&*embled and draw some lines in where players are, dont you think an event that is completely squad base is going to be a lot more hectic? No, I in fact said the next event is squad based so ruin the next event with squads and let normal people participate in this one. As for your 'simple' DT not being able to get squads !@#$%^&*embled, maybe that's because it's not simple? And there aren't enough people for squads?

rootbear75 Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 ?usage plz and make an estimate to how much of that is not afk usagean ego contest this is notno ego, i just want proof of her statement. cause as far as i know, Unix didnt exist until a few months ago (not saying you actually didnt, yadayada,..)
Unix Posted May 14, 2008 Author Report Posted May 14, 2008 Gar, I'm not trying to make an event for "normal" players who aren't in squads, my entire goal is to make squads more popular and formal. Not saying that my DT is the end all be all, but you're whining about how I'm not gearing it for non-squads, when that's the entire point. Squad growth right now is #1, not informal squads. If you don't like it, don't participate and wait for the next event. Rootbear, if you think usage determines if you're a newb or not maybe you should reconsider who the newb is, ok?
QUAX Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Well, I for one appreciate your efforts to help the zone Unix. People, including myself, will always have suggestions, opinions, likes, and dislikes.
rootbear75 Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Rootbear, if you think usage determines if you're a newb or not maybe you should reconsider who the newb is, ok?i didnt say it did, but chances are, if someone has been around for a a few years longer than you, chances are they know more than you.and i actually wanted the First Played: Well, I for one appreciate your efforts to help the zone Unix. People, including myself, will always have suggestions, opinions, likes, and dislikes.i do as well... its about time someone organized an HS tourney
Unix Posted May 14, 2008 Author Report Posted May 14, 2008 Sure doesnt sound like you appreciate it root. Anyways, to be completely honest, I guessed this name's password, and the name itself was made in 2003. I've been playing continuum for about two years now and was on a hiatus for 10 of those months. Just because someone doesnt play in your zone doesnt mean they're a newb.
rootbear75 Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 lol srsly?hahaha thats funny what was the password? and no i dont "appreciate" really anyhting, but i think its good someone's finally getting around to doing anythingit may seem like im being an !@#$%^&*, but i dont want it to fail and you to go crying away.im being extremely critical, because if i dont, then who will, and then the situations that would not have gotten covered otherwise, are covered in a weird way, im trying to help, even though it may not seem like it.its just my own style
