-Player Ships

Two days prior to the HSDT players will email their ship configuration to determine if their ship is within guidelines.

Looks like you're planning on stealing ship setups. What are the restricted items anyways?

If I wanted to steal someone's setup I wouldnt have to have them email it to me, I could just PM ?shipitems to them and see what they have.

Restricted items are still being discussed.

its like in a sports compe!@#$%^&*ion... teams with the best record get the top seeds. (best record gets first seed, second gets the second seed, etc..)

so the player selected from each squad will go out and battle in a 5 death match. The one with the most kills gets first seed and will most likely face the person who got the least kills in the first round of the tournament.

how you wrote it still doesnt make any sense.

Is it possible to send only 1 representative?

Also, any chance moving the tournament to a better server/ increase lag limit by 15ms?

Posted

Squads must send out a total of 3 representatives throughout the course of the DT

Once during the FFA

Once during the Non-Sig DT

Once during the Sig DT

---------------------------------------------------

As for moving the server... Umm no smile.gif

As for raising limits.... Ummm no smile.gif

In fact lag limits will be more strict than they are in pub so that laggers do not effect the outcome of a match.

The new duel arena is now in ?go duel

Teams are maxed out to one

Free for all area south of the duel boxes

Free for all for DT seeding will most likely be different

Four duel boxes so four duels can be done at the same time

The duel boxes will be about if not exactly the same size for DT

Remember not to interfere with dueling, otherwise bad things will happen <_<

First:for all that is said and done it is pointless to have 8 people on a squad and only have 3 that will actualy play you will have bigger turnout if there are squads of 3 lableing them as squad 1 and soforth

second:wtf i dont understand this is gay i have read every one of your posts and i still do not undersand ffs

third:2v2 i think is more fun puts teamwork into riskyer duel

fourth:wtf

Point 1-

Major point was to make squads and get them started. The next event after HSDT will be a lot more squad oriented and this is merely a beginning. Doing the squad 1/2/3/4 thing allows more of your squad to participate, say you have ten players in your squad, 6 of those ten players can then participate

Point 2-

What dont you understand? Talk to me in game if you have questions

Point 3-

HS barely does 1v1 duels and you wanna introduce 2v2 duels?

Point 4-

I dont get why there is a point to seed. Players can purposely do bad in seeding and then get placed with other "low" seed players just so they can get through first few rounds without coming in contact with "higher" seed players.

That is if my understand of seeding is to rank the chances of squad winning is correct so top seeds goes against top seeds.

the 2v2 was mearly an idea

i do see what you mean it is important but you said a minimum of 8 how will 6 people participate when only 3 people play

That's their choice. And this is the best and only unbiased way to do it

doing bad in a seeding event actually hurts you. if you purposely loose in a seeding match then you will be facing an upper seeded player.

Example: 8 players are in the tourny.

1st seed Vs 8th seed

2nd seed Vs 7th seed

3rd seed Vs 6th seed

4th seed Vs 5th seed

its suppose to weed out all of the lesser skilled players so that the finals are more deserved.

on purpose by putting them with a higher skilled player?

no its not.

you should seed based on K/D ratios

you should put people with similar skilll levels together.

better yet, use the public RATING stat (use F2 to see ticker w/ all stats) it should be under R

lol unix is just trying to make it as easy as possible and the seeding is the easiest and its actually pretty fair. stats from f2 are ruined in flag games and should not be applied to dueling. having a qualifying round shows your skill which will place you into a seed.

Seeding isnt really the easiest nor the fairest way to place people.

If you want easy/fair/least time consuming, you might as well get a random # generator and generate the slots for people instead. That way, you waste less time hosting a seed match and getting everyone to participate.

Posted

1) Gets one more player involved from the squad

2) You want to place #1, for all you know you might get a bye in the first round (meaning you dont duel and you automatically get a p!@#$%^&*)

3) If you do poorly in seeding, you get a bed seeding, meaning you have the hardest time

4) If you do great in seeding, you get a good seeding, meaning you have the easiest time

5) With a lack of any relevant data to interpret, since pub stats is based generally on flagging no centering, this is the overall best way to do it

6) If we use a number generator, who's to say I didnt fake it and just put whoever I wanted to put?

7) Virtually every sport uses some kind of seeding when it becomes a tournament style bracket (Take a look at all playoff formats)

dirol.gif You fight for what you want in the seeding match, it's not like I'm forcing it onto you

9) If this isnt fair, why is it done so much?
