We've got some sweet new jump gate graphics in now. They're the work of Aquarius and myself. Aqua did the cloud graphic, and I did the outer structure and opening flash.

 

There will probably be minor tweaks to them over the next week. I've got a couple of ideas to improve their overall looks.

 

There is still an issue where they look bad when you ?jump in to or out of the hypertunnels. We'll probably wind up redoing the hypertunnel backgrounds.

 

Additionally, there will probably be a similar map change to fix the overlap issues with the gate's outer tiles.

The gate pylons were made with Blender, the animation portions were done in particleIllusion and everything was compiled and compressed with The GIMP.

No. Gimp is based on photoshop (for people that don't want to buy it). So really photoshop is the best image editor ever.

Is it just me or does sometimes the gfx for the new jump gate graphics lag? Like its only the blue (exit) gfx that gives me a slight spike for about 1-2 seconds and then I revert back to normal. By spike I mean continnum kinda stops loading for a second or so.

There's an issue with the gate timing being off when more than one person uses the gate.

Just wondering, this isnt a big issue, but when you enter into a sector or center sometimes the gate corners stop is completely because we basically warped on them, is there a way we can make it wider or turn them into gfx so we dont land on top and do a complete stop?
