o()o Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 I get low FPS in subspace- especialy in rooms with many tiles and/or bullets and ships. In rooms with a lot of tiles I get around 30fps. Things I've tried: Software emulation (no difference)Avoid Page Flipping (no difference)Disable Clipping (no diff)No framerate limit (no diff)8bit color (no diff)no sound (no diff) I think I read somewhere that it could be related to the BIOS version? Could this be the reason? If so how can I fix this. I have a good computer that can play games like CSS at max settings at 100fps and with 10 bots, so processor speed and graphics capabilities can't be the problem. All my other games work fine. I can't remember when exactly this started happening. I do remember fiddling with the force into memory boxes before this started to happen, but now they are all unticked as it should be. Any ideas to what is causing this will be helpful.
rootbear75 Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 are you in a ship when you experience the Low FPS?
o()o Posted April 18, 2008 Author Report Posted April 18, 2008 doesnt matter. In spec or in ship it is low fps and jittery.
rootbear75 Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 well, it matters, because if its only when you start, and when you enter in spec, then just enter a ship and it goes away.this happens to me upon entering any arena. I enter a ship, and it goes back to normal
o()o Posted April 18, 2008 Author Report Posted April 18, 2008 Well I meant in this case it doesn't make a difference. The Fps is low when I enter, after I enter, when i'm in spec, and when i'm in a ship.
Incomplete Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 What resolution are you using? Try using a lower one.
o()o Posted April 18, 2008 Author Report Posted April 18, 2008 I am using 1280x1024 resolution because that is the native resolution of my LCD screen. I tried it at lower resolutions and it is better. But how can this be a problem with my 8600GT vid card??? btw I did update my drivers and no diff
Samapico Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 I'm guessing you're in full screen mode? Have you tried windowed? (or vice-versa)
o()o Posted April 19, 2008 Author Report Posted April 19, 2008 I tried windowded mode. Still low fps. As I said I did update my drivers. No diff
FranKllr Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 (edited) On my computer. I get low fps with any other color depth than 32. I have a NVidia 6600. Edited April 24, 2008 by FranKllr
