Well, the serious opinion that Iran will get nukes from North Korea and drop them on Israel, leading to nuclear war.

 

Ahmenijad's mentor did have this weird goal of reviving the Mahdi by causing sufficient turmoil. The plan could be to nuke a lot of people, cause the revival of this 'Mahdi', and then follow some 12th century dictator in a quest for world conquest.

 

I'd guess Ahmenijad is only half as crazy as his mentor, but he's still nuts enough to use a nuke.

That on comes from an asteroid with a 1 in 45,000 chance of earth collision.

 

Some reports say a German 13 year old calculated it as 1 in 4,500 chance.

We will have to sling shot a shuttle onto the asteroid and plant nukes, making the asteroid split and avoiding earth.

this will kill a lot of the population off, but not all of it.

 

this is actually expected in the next few hundred years...

(supposedly, the last one happened 640k years ago, so we are due for one at any time)
