ThunderJam Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 I know that ASSS has the capability of running merv plugins within ASSS. Like you can convert it and run it internally... Would be cool if there was some way to convert stuff from merv/twcore
»Purge Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 what do you mean convert stuff? like port MERV plugins to ASSS?
CRe Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 I don't think ASSS has that. I think its actually that you can use a MERVBot on ASSS. And you can use twcore too
ThunderJam Posted April 16, 2008 Author Report Posted April 16, 2008 Nah not connecting a bot to an ASSS zone. Someone... either bak or smong wrote some code that would run merv plugins in ASSS. Anyway just saying i wish we could port twcore/merv stuff to work on each other
Cancer+ Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Like having a merv plugin work on the TWCore bot.
»Lynx Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Wow, you can run MERV plugins on ASSS, that's f**king cool.
»Purge Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 where is this code that bak/smong made, TJ?
»D1st0rt Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Due to technical limitations, I can virtually guarantee there will never be a way to properly run a MERV Plugin on a TWCore bot or vice-versa. You could use the bridge merv plugin to kinda maybe do it, but it will probably be very ugly and a lot of unnecessary work. The ASSS module in question is here
»freakmonger Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 It would be a big acomplishment just to run a Hybrid plugin on a TWCore bot or vice-versa and they are both the same language But like d1st0rt said, it wouldn't be worth it to have a "bridge" type plugin.
»D1st0rt Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Funny you should say that, I believe Hybrid came with a TWCore emulator
»freakmonger Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 It did, and it would *still* be a pain The early hybrid used the TWCore emulator I've spoken to cerium several times about making twcore/hybrid compataible. It would be great for both cores, but I don't think the core devolpers have the time to dedicate to such a project right now. Plus both cores have core level changes frequently so that would mean that both cores would have to be updated to reflect eachothers changes. (Although the hybrid side of core devolpment has slowed down over the last year due to R/L and ASSS stuff *cerium!!*)
»freakmonger Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Nah not connecting a bot to an ASSS zone. Someone... either bak or smong wrote some code that would run merv plugins in ASSS. Anyway just saying i wish we could port twcore/merv stuff to work on each other That module wasn't written for the sole purpose of using merv plugins...it allows subgame commands (commands merv/twcore/bots use) to be used in ASSS. So you could use any bot in ASSS zones, or any (I think all of them work) subgame commands in ASSS zones.
»D1st0rt Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 You're talking about sgcompat The thread I linked was a module called mervcompat that actually lets you run merv code as a module
»freakmonger Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 and thats what I get for skimming through posts and not clicking on the links
aquarius Posted May 10, 2008 Report Posted May 10, 2008 So it wouldn't be wise to make a merv/twcore-compat module so you can run twcore bots and mervbots as modules? On top of eachother.
