candygirl Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 I'd be careful about handing them out inside stores. The owners might have a problem with you doing that. I don't see why...Its not like he is selling anything.
»CypherJF Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 Doesn't matter, store owners often times don't like their customers being h!@#$%^&*led by other customers; have to becareful not to 'loiter' as well.
Trained Posted April 13, 2008 Author Report Posted April 13, 2008 (edited) Ill just hand them to the clerks and ask if they can give 1 card out with each purchase. Edited April 14, 2008 by Trained
Samapico Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 What's with the 'more than 807 players daily' ? http://stats.trenchwars.org/ There are over 1200 people AT ONCE about every night
Static Burn Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 I suggest changing "Continuum is the longest running MMO on the internet. 13 years into the making Continuum is still alive and well, reaching over 807 players daily from all over the world. Do you have what it takes?" To: "Continuum is the longest running massively Multiplayer game on the internet. 13 years into the making Continuum is still alive and well, reaching thousands of players daily from all over the world. Do you have what it takes?"
rootbear75 Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 change 13 into the actual word.... looks more professional
Incomplete Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 The numbers look fine. it's not like he's going for an interview or something.
rootbear75 Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 also, let them know, that if their thing pops up with (password not correct) tell them to change their username

Trained Posted April 17, 2008 Author Report Posted April 17, 2008 I spoke to GameStop yesterday about leaving the cards on their counter for people to take at their own will and they said I had to contact the corporate office, so I did. The corporate office said that they can if they are willing, but the general manager or district manager has to approve of the image/text on the cards. So this evening I dropped off 50 to the GameStop in Beaumont (30 miles from here) and Nederland (15 miles from here). If any of you would like to join me send me a private message with your address (promise I won't stalk ) and i'll send you some cards to hand out around school/work or wherever.
Cancer+ Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Messaged. Let's go people, this is your time to shine.
rootbear75 Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 we should probably have them somewhere say: I saw this card and decided to play.that way we know if its working
»Purge Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 perhaps ask the question "Where have you heard about Continuum before?" in the SSforum registration and put a list of checkboxes with possible answers?
jacob hunter! Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Yes that would be interesting to know.
Sketter Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 (edited) Continuum is the longest running massively multi player game on the Internet.13 years into the making, continuum is still alive and well, reaching thousands of players daily from all over the worldDo you have what it takes? Uummm....I guess it is too late but not totally cool with the wording, and just wanted to add my 2 cents, not that you have to take it. Continuum is one of the longest running massively multi player game on the Internet.10 years of a game played by, lived by, and run solely by the players. Connecting thousands of players by it's unique free game, made by the players.Check out why we lasted this long...Continuum, taking you back, to where it all started. Also i don't think you should have your email on it, i think it should be directed to ssforums, only. Also getcontinuum needs to update it's site, fix broken links and update status for zones, and i really think ssforum should be placed on that site for technical support since SS Council website is dead and this is the place where it seems priitk and GS seemed to indirectly indorsed. But I love what you are doing. Trained Posted April 17, 2008 Author Report Posted April 17, 2008 Well, I liked the way you worded it, but the prints are already made. The reason I put my email was in case people that are new to computers don't quite understand message boards yet, could always shoot an email. I thinks it impossible to not understand how to email someone, but yet again im sure their are some people out there that just don't understand that aswell. I also like working 1 on 1 with newbies helping them understanding the game and the internet. If I end up having to make some more cards i'll add that text, and hopefully I can put SSCentral.com on them when the site is fully complete.

Sketter well, he made the card and is advertising it, so it would be his responsibility to answer questions from people. he put a link to ssforum.net, anyway. as for your description... it sounds a bit weird. I'd do something like:"Continuum is one the longest running massively multiplayer games on the internet! For over 10 years, Continuum has boasted its unique themed servers and robust player base, reaching well over a thousand players daily from around the world. Do you have what it takes?"

For over 10 years, Continuum has boasted its unique themed servers and robust player base, reaching well over a thousand players daily from around the world. Do you have what it takes?" I think wording is very important when advertising, you want people to get interested in what your offering. I think it is important for people to know that this game IS in fact run by it's players, where do you hear any game run by it's players like we do?I think that will catch peoples interests.I don't like the punch line being "do you have what it takes?" It feels used... it is too commonly use. You are in fact trying to advertise a decade old game, taking it back to where it all started, fits with what there is to offer here, and trying to get people back to when 2D games was the !@#$%^&* Perhaps putting something everyone has said, something can work out. And yes, it is too bad he printed it, but if it goes well, and a second round is needed, a few mods won't hurt. Working one on one with people, i can respect that, but in this way, i still don't agree (agree to disagree)But last i heard over 90% of kids in North America has a computer. I'm do have confident in them they know how to download, install, and play. If there is a problem, they WILL look at the website they got it from, and look for tech support, trouble shoot, FAQ. Something getcontinuum doesn't have on their main page. you need to enter the biginners page first before you get a link for support. I say just get the site updated....who runs it anyways?
