Weird Problem

First.. when loading Continuum I click the play button and the client freezes for about 45 seconds, then finally it starts entering game. After entering when in full screen mode, my computer rev's up real loud like its fixing to explode or something. Kind of weird, noticed it before but didn't think nothing of it, but now that my ol lady is asleep next to the computer, I would hate to wake her up.. I dont think anyone would.

Quite certain its the fan on your GFX card. Theoretically it should probably be making the same lawnmower sounds for other games. A little cleaning may just sort that out.

i have the same problem almost on a regular basis with my laptop, but i havent heard the fan rev up.. ( i dont even know if there IS a fan)

Yes, for some reason Continuum has that problem. Although I never noticed it on my windows 98, the client-server response before entering the game can be really slow, and Continuum takes a lot more CPU than it should (even if it doesn't seem like much), causing (usually on laptops) your fan to go on because of overheating. For some other users, the overheating may actually cause their computers to restart.

Yea, I think its just a little dust problem, I dont feel like cleaning it right now though hehe. Yea, Im running vista.

Problem solved.

 

As I thought it would be a memory problem I went to Circuit City today to upgrade my computer to 2 gigs of memory, and what do ya know, it runs and works 10x better. No rev ups, and no pause. Thanks for the help though guys =)

My computer keeps revving up as well... even if i'm doing nothing at all, and nothing takes CPU in the process list... it's just annoying. I'll have to clean it up a bit :/

It's REALLY noisy...
