JDS Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 there is much fail in SIT... much fail indeed Quote
candygirl Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 I guess it will give them something to do :/ Quote
Charis Posted April 2, 2008 Author Report Posted April 2, 2008 Failure, the general consensus of this game. Who give a crap, if you have a problem visit forums. If you don't go post trash talk somewhere else. Stop being idiots. Quote
Aceflyer Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 I guess it will give them something to do :/ Indeed. I agree with what ThunderJam said, it seems that SIT is aiming to become a "players advocacy" group of "lawyers". Quote
Resol Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 I have come to this post a few times, with nothing good to say about what this SIT crap is doing. I mean seriously, this is a joke, if you have a problem with someone, ?ignore. If you are banned, DEAL WITH IT. If you really need to cry to someone that bad about a 'game' then you my friend are one very sad individual. I have not seen such a joke come out of this community is a long time. There isn't a need for this, and I am sure the only reason it got started is that the leader has an issue. Most likely got banned / harr!@#$%^&*ed and didn't have any one to back up his story. Bottom line, get a life. This is a pointless 'service' and the most redicuelous thing I have ever seen. I could go on and on, but wont. Quote
Charis Posted April 2, 2008 Author Report Posted April 2, 2008 K, well sometimes people need an advocate. And seriously how easy is it to evade an ignore. Quote
»1587200 Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 If it's so easy to evade, then why would anyone need a group to step in for them? Quote
X`terrania Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 And besides, not all players on this game are real females, you could be defending some sick pedophile who is just going to pick up his next victim. Quote
rootbear75 Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 K, well sometimes people need an advocate. And seriously how easy is it to evade an ignore.exactly, i have about 10 usernames on my ignore.txt that mock my name, and were made to byp!@#$%^&* my ignores Quote
Aceflyer Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 All players have the right to directly contact zone staff, or even the Subspace Council, for !@#$%^&*istance. There is no 'need' for advocates. Quote
rootbear75 Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 (edited) do you know how hard it is to get in contact with any of them?and do you also know that they wont do !@#$%^&*? because apparently, har!@#$%^&*ing/stalking/evading ignores is NOT on the list of things you can get (net)banned for. Aceflyer Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 do you know how hard it is to get in contact with any of them? It is not hard to get in contact with zone staff (in most SSC zones). A simple ?help or ?cheater call in game should suffice. It is also possible, in a pinch, to ?message specific zone staff in game or PM specific zone staff at zone boards or forums. As an additional method, some zones offer specific support contact emails (Trench, for example, has a specific email for ban matters). and do you also know that they wont do !@#$%^&*? Zone staff are usually pretty friendly and helpful when handling legitimate queries. because apparently, har!@#$%^&*ing/stalking/evading ignores is NOT on the list of things you can get (net)banned for. Players only need to deal with the Council directly if they themselves are netbanned. In that situation, submitting a ticket via the Council's online support system should suffice. In all other situations it is better to contact the local staff in the relevant zone. Quote
Aileron Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 So, wait...this isn't an April Fool's Day joke? Quote
Sass Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 I dunno guys - I actually think that we should let this team play out their role. If they are offering something to players, for which NONE of the posters above have anything relevant to contribute, then let their contributions and efforts be tried. Maybe it's a good thing. Btw - as for the group of people here who responded Charis - they're the nay-sayers of SS, barely ever play, they sit in spec demanding that someone acknowledge their presence. I say go for it - try it (if it wasn't an April Fools joke). Quote
Resol Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Yeah, go for it. Â All the more power to you. If it makes you feel better that you have some sort of role to play in this community, and thats what your looking for, go for it. Quote

No_Remorse Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 I was waiting for Charis to say, "just kidding". All the power to you if you really think this will accomplish anything. Quote
»Lynx Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 #1 SIT has no power, and is therefore useless.  #2 It's an online game, if people are persistently "stalking" you - change your alias. #3 I've never heard of a zone on SSC that won't deal with somebody who's cross-zone spamming you and changing alias to evade any ?ignores. They can't just go around banning anyone because someone has 'proof', plus you're obviously going to get a one-sided story and can't really act much on that. Quote

The "no power" bit is the primary reason SIT will probably not succeed in its intended mission. Quote
JDS Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 why dont we all jsut play subspace and stop making so much e-drama, less bans and no FSIT? fail* Quote
»Lynx Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 But if we done that, what would we talk about? 0_o Quote
jacob hunter! Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 ok first of all I would like to point out that this group can get their power by having alot of members joining in from different zones. a hundred people or so should land this group power. I'll join count me in. ss council doesn't do !@#$%^&* for nobody anymore since most members are inactive. But ss could use more political movement. Quote

I'll join count me in. ss council doesn't do !@#$%^&* for nobody anymore since most members are inactive. But ss could use more political movement. SS could use more political movement? This won't be a political movement, it will be some newb getting banned from a zone, him contacting SIT and a bunch of newbs in SIT har!@#$%^&*ing somebody for something which they probably done for good reason. Look at the nature of all interest groups, because after all, this is an interest group - it takes the views held by a very small minority and uses them views to annoy the f*ck out of the majority. SIT = FAIL.  Also, you can have 100 people in the group, it will still have no power. Power means you can effectively make a change by showing control - you can't make a change by shouting loudly, the only power this will have is "If you don't follow the rules which I now will state, i'll get 100 people to come in here and make an idiot of you, annoy you, and cause you to lose interest in this zone, and therefore quit the zone. I win the bout as I got my way, however now there's nobody left to manage the zone, so we know it's going to die - and like the majority of all the good zones, this one has died because a bunch of newbs thought they were right and started a movement". I think any logical thinker will agree.  Oh by the way.. SIT = FAIL Quote
Samapico Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 He was saying that staff from different zones could be part of/!@#$%^&*ociated with the SIT, giving them some power to change things... But I laughed when I read "100 people" Quote
