My friend Eric Anderson recently joined an online compe!@#$%^&*ion to win a 20 thousand dollar scholarship. He was recently accepted into Columbia University and is trying to raise enough money to actually attend school there. This would be of great help to him.

The compe!@#$%^&*ion is essentially a popularity contest. It's stupid, I know, but he is so close to winning and I would really like to see him win it.

voted. would be nice if he wins. I have a friend attending Columbia and I am planning on going there for medical school. never heard about this contest, though.

Zinch is an online community for high school seniors. It connects member colleges with the student members and allows you to be recruited by these colleges. So they can look at who you are as a person and not just what scores you get on unrelated tests. Thanks for your help Purge. Much better than the reception I received at MGB. Lol.

i woulda voted for the asian !@#$%^&* , but i read her 'thing' and it was all 'i this' and 'i that' , and i have this and that and can do this and that, she seemed to high on life, she wont win. not a chance.

Another of those 'hey look, I'm random' kids? ... bleh. It's one thing to act weird, but to say "I'm random" as the first thing that describes you is just stupid. Let me guess, he watches Invader Zim?

Giving a 20000$ scholarship based on popularity isn't too professionnal either... wtf is that school?

 

Columbia is one of the top ivy league universities in USA, located in NYC.

 

and who said you need to be professional to earn a scholarship? he is probably on that scholarship contest because of his grades/extracurriculars/community service like many scholarship funds look for.

The scholarship is awarded by Zinch, that online community. As purge said all of the contestants have been screened to fit the qualifications of high grades, lots of respectable extracurriculars, and honoring the importance of community service. Thanks for your guys' support.

 

Edit: The idea would be all of the people that are voting are voting based on who has the most qualifications. But the geniuses on Zinch didn't really give the contestants an opportunity to showcase what makes them the better contestant. Eric is actively involved in DECA, SciOly, and many other academic organizations. He is also the valedictorian of his high school and started an organization in his high school to anonymously help high school kids who are dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts.

Just thought I would give an update, last night Eric was down by 400 votes when he got home from school but by midnight he had gained the lead. Again, over night, this girl has somehow garnered more support and has taken the lead by substantial numbers. However, it is not over yet. He did it once and by golly he can do it again. I see that many people have already viewed this post, if you could please continue to support my friend it would be an amazing show of faith. Thank you very much.

It's just that any online poll like that is so easily biased... Especially if there are sprees of hundreds of votes, it's obvious that some people just go on a mad voting spree using proxies and whatnot.

Well congratulations you are a !@#$%^&* and an !@#$%^&*hole. I really dont care what one person does. I am appealing to the good nature of the m!@#$%^&* as a whole. You know if you didn't suck at poker so much that you have to have your picture taken with true greats maybe you wouldn't be such a completely negative !@#$%^&*hole all the time.

 

BTW Update: He is currently almost 50 votes in the lead. Lets see how far he can go with this.

Wow, I wish I could unvote. Its a race and a vote, he can vote on whoever he is interested in, good job of being a !@#$%^&*ing immature kid who cry's and insults someone cause they don't get there way. Picard is a good guy, good job insulting a respected member of the community.

Well in this case it seems to me that he is legitimately trying to be an !@#$%^&*hole simply because he feels that I shouldn't have posted this on the forums. If he read through both profiles and decided that he thinks that Sunny deserves the scholarship then I retract my statements. I am sorry for insulting you picard if that is what you did. If that was the case I would have appreciated an explanation. Since he didn't provide one it seems like he is just trying to be mean to me. Since as you said, this is a community, so since I am an avid subspace player and have been for years, that makes me and picard practically brothers of the same faith. In one's faith if you ask someone for !@#$%^&*istance, you don't usually expect them to turn around and throw it in your face that they didn't assist you. That's just me. Thank you Trained for your comment and opening up my view because I narrowmindedly thought he was being a !@#$%^&*bag. I apologize if my comments were not warranted.

That's what I thought... I can see how Picard's post can be interpreted that way. But I don't think that's how he meant it blum.gif

But yeah, if he did say that in a "I just did the opposite of what you want just to piss you off" way, then I agree with you with him being... let's say... uncool blum.gif
