SubSpace 2 Anti Cheat idea

I was thinking of making an anti cheat program that runs along with SubSpace2, and will be shown only in the little icons by the clock, kind of like GameGuard and other programs like that, and if the user will close the anti cheat, then subspace will close also. Anti cheat program will look for if cheat engine is running, DLL injectors, or anything of that sort.

Another idea is to create a launcher, by that I mean, to play SS2 you'll have to open up a program, it checks for updates, and if there are any it downloads them, and starts game, and if there are none, then it just starts the game... I think that would be useful since SS2 can be updated allot, and there will be no need of the user to go on some site like ssdownloads and re download the new version. If you want to see how the launcher works go on www.ijji.com and download GunZ (2 minutes download)

so what do you think about the 2 ideas?

stuff like gameguard that they use in games like Gunbound and Drift City are a joke.

ive seen many hackers playing both of those games

ok, i was talking about GunZ... and try using cheat engine, Undetected Cheat Engine, DLL injector, to hack GunZ... The only way to hack is to edit client sided gameplay, in continuum only client sided game play is the map, and graphics... so would be useful to make map server sided if possible, and no point of changing graphics for the hacker :\

Interesting ideas, but at this point not really looking at anti-cheat tech - Gotta have a game first to cheat in blum.gif

ye ur right :( but thats why its an idea :D

I think it might be a good idea to learn from Valve's VAC2 system (Valve Anti-Cheat 2). Works very well and accurately...and you definitely can't get passed it.

Then again you would have to make Subspace 2 subscription based or something you have to buy to be able to play. You should look into getting this on Steam through SteamWorks (http://www.steampowered.com/steamworks/) and using some of the nice things they provide you with. smile.gif It might help.
