ok before you flame this saying submit a ticket, consider the fact that someone besides cre is posting this. It attests to the fact that cre has people that care whether he is on the game or not, not just to have fun with, but cuz of his contributions to the game.

"Cre>", a staffer in ds, and leader of the ssdev team has been netbanned for "hacking in mg" for... i don't even know how long now. 3-4 Months at least. Cre has no clue why, hes tried talking to ppl, ive tried pming freakmonger about this (but hes always afk).

Aquarius has basically stepped down from his leader position in ssdev, and know who he left it to? Cre. This guy has his mind on the development of our community, and has tons of ppl who would talk highly of his character. The idea that he hacked in mg, is absolutely absurd to me, and ive staffed with the guy, and been on ssdev with him for over 6 months. The man doesn't even know how to hack. It's just gotten dumb at this point, and its time he gets unbanned.

I see nothing in the net-ban list?

Must have been resolved? All but 4 of past 20 net-bans originated from TW...

What can I say, PoL'? With a higher percentage of the population comes a higher percentage of idiocy.

I kept an eye on these developments because the person you know as Cre> was also a regular player in TW, and I was curious to know whether I would be maintaining local blocks against him. Unless freakmonger was wrong about what he saw him do under the name tuL that eventuated in the netban, your character witness means diddly squat.

first, I'm not always afk. I just have selective reply syndrome.

second, this issue has been addressed a long time ago.

Hoch decided to netban "cReEmY" (his other alias). Cre claims over and over that tul is not one of his aliases, but every bit of information on the two match. MID, IP, TZB. Thats some major coincidence lol.

Are you asking did tul hack in mg? Yes

Are you asking if I will remove the ban? Maybe. I will discuss with hoch (again) and see if we can remove the ban. I will NOT tell hoch that "tul" did not cheat, because he did. However, I will see if something doesn't "look right" with the information. BUT, if "tul" is caught hacking again, I wont be this cooperative in resolving any netban issues that come up with aliases that match his info.

I am only doing this because I know creemy as well, and couldn't believe that he would do something like that but hey, i've got to trust my upper staff and trust the information that subbill matches (when a big match like this happens). I mean its kind of hard to say that its not him when everything matches lol.

O and the people who don't know how to "hack" are the ones that get caught lol. If they knew how to hack, then they wouldn't get caught smile.gif

I hate using that word "hack" because its not really hacking when you are using a program that somebody else made lol

by your definition there are no hackers since none of them use their own programs. they use MS Command Prompt, putty, etc...

after reviewing the ban information collected we have came to the agreement that tul and creemy is one in the same.

The login information collected was:

2007-08-29 16:48:38 cReEmY EXACT IP MATCH, EXACT HARDWARE MATCH

2007-08-29 16:49:14 tuL EXACT IP MATCH, EXACT HARDWARE MATCH

As you can see there are about 36 seconds in between the login attempts and the IP and Hardware match EXACTLY. Now if creemy would have just confessed that he is infact tul I would have been more inclined to remove the ban after a few weeks. But he insisted in a number of e-mails between him and myself that he was NOT tul and did not have other players login from his computer.

In over 9 years of staffing in subspace I have never ran into this big of a coincidence nor has Hoch. So unless you can take the above information and convene me or Hoch that they are NOT the same player, Hoch said he is not inclined to remove the ban at this time.

If more information becomes available I will be more than happy to discuss this ban further with hoch but I hate to waste his time as there are other bans that need to be reviewed on an hourly basis.

Sigh, honestly i think the dude deserved to be unbanned either way. Consider this...

SSDev helps zones across ss every week. In the past two months I have made halo a new public tileset, chaos a new public tileset, and eg a new public map and tileset. Thats one member of ssdev. Aquarius does as much as I do. And we got the coders like purge, witchie, bak-, etc. Cre runs webhosting for free for most ppl who ask for it, and now that aqua's gone cre will also be in charge of the dev zone, which is on ssc and available for anyone who needs a place to dev temporarily. Cre is basically gonna be heading up ssdev, and looking at that productivity level, its embar!@#$%^&*ing that he be netbanned. Even if he DID have a temporary lapse of judgement and pull some crap in MG, it seems to me the pros outweigh the cons here. And even if he did do it, if you unban him, do you think he would do it again? Of course not.

For the record, i still dont think he did it, cuz ive seen the guy react to hacks and been like "OMG HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?" i highly doubt he could have done anything, but w/e

Oh right, so just because someone makes the odd

or even consistent contribution to a zone or zones

that translates into them receiving, basically, a get

out of jail free card when they violate SSC netban

rules. Gotcha.

Leaving bizzaro world for a minute and returning

to reality, and not to repeat in full what FM wrote

already, if Cre wants to dispute the netbans, then

he knows what to do.
