rootbear75 Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 oh we are sorry, since when does PH sound like F
»Lynx Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 There's often a difference between spelling and pronunciation. Isn't that obvious, root?
rootbear75 Posted March 21, 2008 Author Report Posted March 21, 2008 Phonix!im pretty sure you need that since you cant even spell phonics correctly
2pac Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 YEAH DUH RE!@#$%^&* i SERIOUSLY didnt know that!, idiot im emphisizing "Phonix" and "Phonics"
darkhosis Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 (edited) personallly i was always taught it was "sulphur" and was shocked when i learned that sulfur apparently is the "primary" method of spelling in the USA.. boggling indeed... perhaps a recent development Edited March 22, 2008 by darkhosis
»Lynx Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 I have a medicine box in front of me and funnily enough they spelled it Ferrous Sulphate - I guess it would just look re!@#$%^&*ed if it said "Ferrous Sulfate". Or how about even more re!@#$%^&*ed if it said "Fero Sulfate"? As I said, words don't always spell the way that they're pronounced. You should look up "revocation" in the Oxford English Dictionary. Then look up "aluminium." Check the pronunciation guide. You will be amazed at just how wrongly you have been pronouncing it.
rootbear75 Posted March 24, 2008 Author Report Posted March 24, 2008 Then look up "aluminium." Check the pronunciation guide. You will be amazed at just how wrongly you have been pronouncing it. its ALUMINUM, not ALUMINIUM, we also pronounce it like its spelled: Aluminum
Cancer+ Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 Are you guys seriously fighting over how 'PH' and 'F' sound and how you pronounce 'aluminum' ? Sad, sad topic.
